HAHAHAHAHA, maximum possible retardation of this thread was reached at this point. Volume are nowhere near a top shell, the only \"top\" accounts are bought or \"inherited\" and they have accomplished nothing but kill a ton of kings their bought bot claimed for them (kings are olde and piss easy btw). As far as socialising in that shell goes, 90% of the LS chat/vent is people talking about what accounts they\'re gonna buy and the other 10% is a few of them being real_niggas.

I dunno who the fuck you are, but that is virtually never the topic of discussion in LS chat. It's pretty much normal, like most any other shell. Also, I'd like to think my account is pretty good (and nearly done with Amano now), and it has always been mine. I'm sorry, you shouldn't believe everything people say, especially when people in Volume are trolling you. The vast majority of the accounts here are original owners, and I'm pretty sure we won't even make a relic for anyone who isn't on their own account.

Baelorn is typically right on a lot of things. He is a good player, and is generally well connected around Phoenix. However, I think the comments got a little offbase about Volume.

Volume has a lot of the old membership of Zaibatsu, an LS a few generations ago, where they were widely known for their excessive shit talking. God... I don't even know who Magicalmidget's current body is. This was back when the leaders were Gouke and later Keller. I justifiably got booted from Zaibatsu for not agreeing with leader discussions, and vetting to other LSs about it via applications and side conversations.

Volume has been a drastic improvement over where they originally came from. Individually, I have not had any negative run-ins with any Volume members. I know several of them recently helped our LS with a KV kill (our LS is evening event driven, it was a morning pop. Feel free to talk about how HM can't kill KV on their own).

Yes, some of their members have a questionable backstory on individuals they used to interface with, much like Haze's history (from what I've heard, anyway). However, it's misdirected towards this current linkshell.

I know what I'm talking about and I never once said Celeste was in Volume. S/he did defend them on multiple occasions though in several threads. I never said that Windower was "cheating" or that HNM shells shouldn't bot either so I don't know where that little line came from.

I know there's two sides to every story but stealing is stealing etc and you do have people in your shell you have stolen items or banks. There's also a handful of players that RMT characters and gil. Like I said, if you're fine with these things that's great. I'm just trying to let people who read this recruitment thread know what they're getting into. That's it.

AFAIK, we have 1-2 people that have stolen, but we aren't going to be morality police on every aspect of someone's life. I guarantee you every shell has someone of less moral character than others in the shell. It's dumb IRL when the media tries to do it to celebrities/politicians, and it's dumb here too. I have never claimed that Volume is a shell full of angels. I am only claiming that the VAST MAJORITY of us play our own accounts and have never stolen anything. Once again, I am not claiming that everyone is here, but when asked and you can only name 2 people out of a pretty large shell...that's saying something on it's own.


As for the quality of the shell, things change for one. I can't speak as to what Volume was in the past, but most our players use proper gearsets and swaps. We clear t3ein/odin with a reasonable number of people, we have become pretty efficient with limbus/dynamis splits. We claim a good number of kings: past, ground, and toau. I am not sure what all you think a shell needs to do to be good. Admittedly, we are not killing PW yet, but are working on some popsets slowly at the time. Sadly, a lot of people aren't too motivated to kill him (and I personally don't get why people are so obsessed with the items, if you're not a mnk, it seems pretty close to useless).

We have a few sketchy people in the shell, but I will be shocked if any other shell out there doesn't. You may think you don't, but I guarantee you, you do. It's all shades of gray too. Not returning gil when someone pays 10x what an item is going for on the AH is stealing too really. How many people really return that?

Well... Being a Phoenix native since NA release working with mainly one linkshell (CoC/DoV) since 2005 until recently (September), and seeing EVERY linkshell on this server come and go, be reborn, and disappear over the years, Volume is not going anywhere, Leadership is solid, our team of people is topnotch, people know their shit, and I'm really happy and honored to be working with them at this point in my FFXI career. Item distribution is fair and sound, payouts rock, and most of all, you meet some really good people who genuinely care in this group. I like the fact that I can login, do some camps and still have time for what I need to get done. So If you're lookin for a great shell with alot of opportunity, good people, and good times apply to Volume .

To the haters I say this: if you don't like the way things are you have 3 options: change it, ignore it, or GTFO.

Pretty sure you don't. I was in another shell before joining Volume, and they spouted the same bullshit you are now. And they were wrong. I guess actually taking the initiative to try to figure out anything for yourself is a dead art and you'd rather believe all the bullshit fed to you.

No offense Isawa, but just because Baelorn happens to agree with another linkshell's thoughts doesn't mean shit. After being a Phoenix native and playing on that server for over two years, I can say without reserve that the biggest pieces of garbage that I have come across in the game gravitate towards Volume like flies towards shit. In fact, I left not only the server behind, but every friend I have ever made in the game to get the fuck away from the bullshit that you bring to every camp, whitegate convo, and the endgame scene in general. Are there some decent people in the shell as well? Definitely, assuming that the characters I knew in the past are still the original owners. Of course, you won't hear shit like this from the other endgame shells, because they know that if they want certain items they're going to have to buy from Volume and they better not piss anybody off.

That being said, I admit I'm an asshole. I've never claimed otherwise. But I don't steal, have never bought an account, and am a pretty good player.
