but in diago's defense, he was right in that interview posted by BRP. you earn more respect, and skill by overcoming the weakness in the character you stick with rather than having to counterpick. justin pwns ryus all over US with rufus. but when it comes to top tier ryu's who take risks, hell have to counterpick rather than overcome it. he dive kicks too much, and uses too many messiah kicks which ryu can punish like nothing, more than other characters, but you learn from it, and do something different. i think he couldve done good with rufus too.

i look at the video, and i see him looking at diago's face when he high lighted a few characters like dictator, to see if he saw any fear in diago, but he was just calm as hell lol. if people had that mentality, it would take like 10 min to start a match, because ppl could keep counter picking over and over and wait till the other person picks. idk, that shit gets on my nerves. marn lost in devastation because of that.

as far as all of evo is concerned. id say screw wong and diago and give it up to my boy sanford. when you see old videos of him, youll see him tapping out with Ken when facing LI joe in a hissy fit playing like an absolute scrub. now you see him #1 in mahvel' and obliterating ppl with cammy, and didnt he come out in like.. 4th? he beat the hell out of everyone who didnt think shit of him.

i also liked sabre. with such a low tier character, he brought out the mindgames/guess games to its fullest!
I forgot to mention this to you when we talked about it, but counter picking is normal here in the states since the old days (ST matches have A LOT of counter picking) so to me, it was normal and it's not a bad thing. Btw, my friend mentioned that Daigo said he believes Justin's just as good as some of the top players in Japan (regardless of which character he plays), so I'm sure with $7,000.00 on the line, that Daigo had to take this seriously.

    That's why double blind exists.

Honestly fuck respect, play to win. If the answer is counterpicking your opponent, then do it. Wong's issue isnt the character obviously, it's that daigo's camped directly in the back of wong's mind and wong couldnt get into daigo's mind if he had a 6 month reservation. Theyre both amazing players but I'm glad daigo pretty much fucked around in the end.

He did not just "screw around"...he was looking for the charge overhead....

Using 4-5 focus in a row is simple mixup when you haven't done it for the last X rounds.

Justin is the best in the world @ MvC / MvC2 / Arcana Hearts / XvsSF / Fate Unlim

He is one of the best @ 3rd Strike, SF ST / HDR, Puzzle Fighter, SF4, etc etc. He used to win most Brawl majors too, but I haven't seen him enter one in a long time now. He played that character that throws the little minions out! Whatever that big duck looking thing was......

Dedede, coincidentally he money matched the best dedede in NYC a long long long long long ass time ago for 50 bucks and lost. Guy obviously understood the game though, without playing he regularly only barely missed top 8.

yeah man, he has to be a "Dextar-type" serial killer or something with that kind of attitude. The ability to keep calm at high pressure situations and not only adapt, but dominate is just insane.

OH! he did lose some money matches tho lol

against arturo and the UK guy, forget his name. the black dude

Daigo's good with vampire hunter (not great, but good) using Bishamon. Is Wong going to enter the SBO for Arcana Hearts and Fate Unlimited?? I would love to see the best in the world play in that game.

When is SBO? I can't wait until then to see all the US vs Japan matchups...

    Lol...

Well, for 1 that isn't HDR, thats SF4. Also, that was the money match Daigo lost to Arturo. Arturo is one of the best players in the world. He knocked a bunch of solid players out of Evo.

Daigo lost to a random in HDR using Guile btw.

Regardless it was a good effort, I see Arturo/wong/sanford and the rest of their crew play alot in chinatown fair here in NYC. They beast everyone here, it's just a different level against the japs. Wong is known more for MvC2 for winning like 6 or 7 years in a row at Evo i believe, and he was only 16 when he started.

lol this guy is such a tool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2y-jkWzUGM

Weltall, justin is actually very terrible at puzzle fighters

but other games he definitely one of the top players

Also to comment on the different boxers in US and Japan. American Boxers play much different style than JP boxers that's why Daigo had to slowly adjust. If you guys saw any of the matches of the PR Boxer that made top 8, that is exactly how a JP plays Boxer. They create a footsie game with boxer even though he has terrible footsie abilities, or at least very hard to master anyway
