I've gotten at least 6 or 7. I have 3 atm, the rest I threw out. 2 for smn, 2 for rng and one shared. The stats are 5 r.atk, 3 r.atk, and for smn they are pet attack 4 and pet attack 3.

I'm a bit behind, but can we solo the fight for the augmented staff? If not, what kind of setup do I need ( feel free to point me to the right thread that has this information, not really sure what I'm looking for ).

Work has kept me busy since the patch :/

Start with full buffs and be prepared to recast them and recast avatar once.

Remember pets get desummoned, so if you don't get that first cast off before ss wears, you're fucked.

Might consider nin sub, but you should be more than fine with whm.

Edit: My bad, read staff as stuff.

No, you can't solo fight for fay staff. Read the "Watchful Pixie - Fight" thread.

What are people's thoughts on the new Fay Staff for summoner? I saw some perp -3 (very appealing since I don't have bahamuts), and some -BP ability delay and varies attack and acc bonuses.

Could this replace bahamuts or elemental staves? Any ideas on optimal stats?

Shit is situational. Bahamut's is still good (if not the best) for Bloodpact accuracy and is also useful for Elemental Siphon. Bloodpact Timer Down, as mentioned before, is essentially Haste for a summoner's Bloodpacts though. Combined with possible Attack/MAB augments, this augmented staff could very well turn out to be the "best" SMN weapon available for enhancing avatar use.

(If you're looking at this staff for the perpetuation costs, well, you're doing it wrong.)

getting a single fay crozier, best stats are bp-5, attack+7 mab+5(new cap i believe) and use it purely as a macro piece, idling in bahamuts.

getting two fay croziers, bp-5, attack +7, perp-3 and bp-5, mab+5, perp-3. basically setting up for both forms of damage, keeping one in mog satchel.

the above really are perfect situations, i don't think you'll easily see a -5 bp staff with them. and honestly i'd settle for one with bp-5 and either stat, attack or mab. the biggest bonus from these is the bp-5.

between fay crozier and mythic pole from meri mountains scnm, bahamut's staff pretty much got outclassed. the only stat it has that others don't is mp.

If I remember correctly, one of the ANNM staffs goes up to ~9 summoning skill.

Fay Crozier can be augmented with Pet: ACC/MACC as well as Attack/Matk

So, Combined with the possibility for BP Delay-2~5, Perp-2~3 and the possibility for Acc/Atk and Macc/Matk... Fay Crozier can be both Worse and Better than Bahamut's Staff in Every way except a nice Hard-to-get Elemental Siphon piece =0

tried augmenting my sacrifice torque and got nothing useful, attack+3. aside from sacrifice torque, is there any older endgame gear that is good for summoner, level 70+, but not r/e, making it augmentable?

the only noteworthy pieces that come to mind would be sacrifice torque, heirarch belt, elite beret +1, astral staff and astral signa.

yeah I was trying to think of this the other day and was surprised when I realized there is almost nothing. Smn doesn't have level 70 JSE. Just the Austere set. Has anyone tried doing Austere set since the new update?

only thing i have seen on austere/penance was my fail -2/+2 penance. i was hoping to see something more serious for dragoon, pup, or beastmaster before i even considered augmenting the rest of the set.

are you trying it with more BP delay than that? because a 1s error margin is quite likely to screw up what you say.. not that i dont believe you but lag and stuff does occur in the game...

    do you have relic spats?

It really makes sense that there would be a cap like that, if more and more -BP gear starts coming out and you can pop off PC every 20 seconds well

SMN might actually get parties and SE doesn't want that

Fey staff -4 to BP timer.

    in total that is...

    -18 seconds

AKA 42 second BP timer. Screenshot shows it at 44 seconds.

    EDIT.

I think its capped at 45 seconds because RIGHT as you BP the timer starts going, so it automatically shows 44 seconds.
check the actual ingame menu. recast plugin doesn't take into account gear as far as i know, isn't it all preset times?

edit- or better yet use an ingame macro, one line just spam it over and over and it should show recast.

edit2- fix your damn aspect ratio

No, recast accurately shows a Bloodpact timer because it reads memlocs in the client side.

If it actually caps at 45, that'd be a damn shame.
Can we get verification on this? Data would be nice to add to my Compilation.

45 makes sense, it is technically the 25 gear haste cap. it still is a crock of shit though.

Fully agreed here, but the Fay Crozier does still open up some slots where it may not be necessary to place BP timer gear. Namely the head and leg slots.
