The caliber of your contribution is overwhelming.
That backpiece is pretty stellar, but I really feel like they're going overboard with the BPD reduction, what with the cap and all. Making so much of it available just seems silly when it only needs to be on during the activation.
That back piece is actually fairly worthless, only use is Nether Blast. Anyone can hit bp- cap easily, and on pretty much anything you'd use merit pacts for you'd be better with the 5ish macc than 1 mab.
No way in hell am I doing Riko every day for a 1% chance at getting pet:1mab cape.
The 2 current slots where the new augments work for SMN are with the Fay Crozier and this Attilus Mantle.
which means to say if you wanted 1 of them to be BP timer and the other skill, you're better off picking Crozier for BP timer / other stats, and aim for an Astute for the cape instead. The augments on the Crozier are far less random than the AMK coffer rewards, and requires less effort. Honestly even Astute is easier to get than that cape.
the next question would be how you want to balance out.
All BP timer? thats a waste
Some BP, some skill? That works, especially if you gear enough to just cap 45s.
All skill? I prefer this because the effects are pretty substantial. You benefit Elemental Spirits, Siphon, BP Rage Acc, BP Ward duration and Spell interrupt down all with just 1 stat.
As for Pet: Attack and Pet: MAB stuff, it really depends on how you gear/merit your SMN already. If you didn't pick Redingotes MAcc/MAB7 and/or merit Avatar magic, theres little reason for you to use a MAB+1 cape and thinking you're making 'full use' of it. On every avatar other than Diabolos, you're gaining only 0.7% damage increase from each MAB point, which is pretty pathetic on its own
I'll take 1 mab over 1 macc, sure.
1 mab over 3-5 macc? No.
If that 5 macc prevents 1 resist you've got to land like 300 pacts with that 1 mab to cover the difference. More if you're already using a lot of MAB.
How do we know that 320-330 caps acc on avatars?
Especially for moves like Shivas 5-hit rush and Titan's attacks seem to miss frequently.
Is there any way to test how many of your Bloodpact hits are actually landing out of 5? How about how many out of Garuda's 3 hits are landing?
I sometimes get random high damage and I can't tell if it just a crit landing or a just all the hits landing.
If we are capping out, wouldn't it be better to use the 3% crit of the new Moogle headpiece vs the Marduk 7 SMN magic?
Easily. /echo <pettp> before and after a Bloodpact lands.
Its impossible to tell which hits miss though, due to avatars gaining full TP on every strike of their Bloodpact, or which hits critical.
Shit is always situational. If you feel you are capping on accuracy, you should be moving some other slots to increase attack.
By the way, increases to critical hit rate will only affect physical Bloodpacts.

Fay 1 for -BP timer, swap out AFII legs for Marduk's and Ward and Merit BP with Mythic Pole. And toss Fay 2
Fay 2 for BP Rage, Keep AFII legs, be -14 BP timer instead of -15 and Mythic Pole for Ward. And toss Fay 1
Or Keep both write two sets of gear sets and -1 your inventory in the hopes that you get to play your smn more then once every two weeks?
I guess I should throw in: I 70 BP in AFII body, Merit BP in ACP body(+7mab), have Full AFII(AFII+1 hands)/YYR , no merits and have B staff.
I'm assuming you don't care at all about the perp since you're keeping full hq staves around for other jobs no matter what, so just keep going for the -bp timer/att/matt, and macro in the mythic after activating blood pact when you want skill. I'm sure you're used to being at 78/80 all the time when you're on smn anyway ;p

I might Try and go for -3 perp + 8 Pet att -1+ Bp Timer and use that instead of B staff for idle.
Yeah it's really not too bad at all to just satchel one or the other depending on what you're doing.
