Wait a second, wasn't the election of Obama supposed to end racial problems? I guess that went over everyone's head didn't it.

Do you honestly believe that anyone thought that electing Obama was going to "end racial problems?" I mean, really? Do you think that's why we voted for him?
Is this your fucking barometer for how you're going to measure his presidency? Are you so pathetic and small that you're going to use each racially ignorant episode in the future as proof that he is/was a shitty president?
Do you ever expect anyone to take you seriously if you're coming into the argument from that perspective?
I assumed one of the reasons why Obama was voted in was the prospect of living a society that has overcome it's racial divides. No wait, are you stupid or something? That was a MAJOR reason why there was so much hype surrounding his election, because of that prospect. I've heard the prospect from hopefuls on the T.V. all the way to my english teacher.
And of course I don't believe that that's the only reason you voted for him, but trying to act like it had nothing to do with it is COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Are you so pathetic and ignorant to deny this?
inb4 Lief and Egon.
you will respect my authority boy.
YouTube - Dr. Joseph Lowery delivers Inauguration Benediction for Barack Obama
Focus on the last parts of the benediction, maybe you guys might be able to comprehend my point and it'll be a bit clearer since it's backed up (I could find loads of shit concerning this point, but really if it didn't hit you by this one then you have no hope of seeing it).
Again, read my post. I know that's not the only reason you voted for him as I clearly stated. Hell if that was the only reason, other potential black candidates who ran in the past might have had more success despite their shortcomings.
edit: Also to clarify the point I'm trying to make I'll state it so there won't be confusion from people who don't know how to read like Dimmauk. "One of the reasons the Obama election was so explosive was the prospect of living in a utopian racially harmonious society."
A+ trolling.
My choices were, a republican, or hillary clinton... race had absolutely nothing to do with my vote
Yes, rush, hannity and the like all prior to his election stated that if Obama won it meant racism was dead in america, and that the african american community had to stop bitching about it.
This kind of shallow thinking doesn't lead anywhere.
Race is the one factor things like this have the least to do with.
Crime levels are more correlated with economic and cultural conditions than race.
Police pullovers and arrests are more correlated with whether the guy is dressed like a scumbag/thug/criminal or not than his race.
Success in life in more correlated with economic and cultural conditions than race.
As far as I'm concerned, there are no real racial problems in America that warrant playing the race card. There are about a thousand more plausible and likely explanation for every situation than racism.
L E I Finb4 Lief and Egon.
=(
But it sure indicates that these "racial problems" might not be that big of a deal if people elected him president over a woman.Do you honestly believe that anyone thought that electing Obama was going to "end racial problems?" I mean, really? Do you think that's why we voted for him?
Can we destroy the bullshit affirmative action policies yet?
I kind of get your point, but I'm curious as to how exactly the African America "community" feels disadvantaged. I mean, quite simply, being African American is a huge advantage if one is willing to put an ounce of work in.Yes, rush, hannity and the like all prior to his election stated that if Obama won it meant racism was dead in america, and that the african american community had to stop bitching about it.
GG All.
Seriously, why is everything about race? You talk like every "race" is on a team competing for the presidential nomination. You talk like every "race" has their own values that only they can promote. You talk like nobody outside of a "race" can help anyone outside of his or her "race".
Come on.
While we're on the same path of non-thinking, I'll expand on your line of "thought".
When do other people of different disabilities get to have their disability represented as a US President?
When do the different income levels get a shot at having their tax bracket represented as a US President?
When do the other states get a shot at having their state represented as a US President?
When do the other religions get a shot at having their religion represented as a US President?
Those values, including your little phrase, have nothing to do with America.
Stop talking like race is the only divider from person to person. Culture, upbringing, accomplishments, aptitude, etc all have more to do with being an effective leader than "race". Race means nothing.
Obamas black?
