Are you saying "racist cop" and "a celebrity raped me" stories are rumormongering by the media, and that the subjects of the stories made no such accusations? That Gates didn't really think his cop was racist, and the woman didn't think she was raped, but the media paints it that way to make it interesting?

Wouldn't be the first time our media stretches the truth.

But above examples are poor, since in this case, it's less "half-truths" and more "sensationalist".
