Optimize your gear for particular set ups, don't dilute the piece for general use. Also, Asuran Fists modifiers are Acc and Att, not str or vit.

The Asuran Fists modifiers joke is something that not everyone might understand.

The first selection would be very good for Asuran Fists because the best AF head right now is the Hissho Hackimaki. The first selection would give up 2 Attack for 17 Accuracy and a potential fSTR bump (I can never remember if that actually even matters for MNKs at all, someone with more knowledge on the subject could clarify that better than I).

Ultimately the reason not to get this helm is that far better combinations can be made for other jobs.

Incorrect, 3 haste 10 acc under the previous conditions mentioned. Usu head can also compete when about 85% or lower hitrate, but should be using pizza if that low (but still a good colibri head).


Edit: as for zergs, you'll want your capped haste to deal your maximum damage.

I used Usukane head in Salvage before Pizza, and I gave it the thumbs up. This was before I had full Usukane, of course.

Well, provided you're not capped, fstr is better for mnk than it is than let's say a sam or drg war ect (Lower base dmg = better increaes from adding more), so yea it's always welcome. Just the fact that in most of the slots you can get str, you can get a gang of acc that you need for an 8hit ws. That being said I like the 4 str ws acc +15 portion of it.

I think what he meant is that you'd get greater improvement for other jobs than what this would do for mnk, but mnk is my main and I love my new asuran hat. Allows me to comfortably ditch shura pretty much perminately and fulltime shit like usu legs, adding even more potential to my Asuran.

I was planning to use this for my MNK (and NIN) WS hat as well, I couldn't really come up with any better options for my other jobs. PLD has almost no possibilities, and for BRD I probably would have just made a Fast Cast+5% hat for casting buffs. That's not really that significant either though. For people with BLM (and some other jobs, which ones have really good hats?) I can see not wanting to "waste" this on MNK, but none of my jobs seem to benefit more than MNK will.

I figure out of all my jobs, I like MNK the most. Therefore, my Earwig Salad should be a proper MNK hat rather than another hat for a job I don't like as much.

But yeah, the options basically boil down to "best Asuran Fists hat ever" or "Turban+1". The former is pretty much better in every possible way.
