Pudzianowski v Tim Sylvia set for April in Boston:



Pudzianowski has won the World’s Strongest Man title a record five times. The 33-year-old made his MMA debut in December and this show will mark his U.S. debut.

Also signed for the card are UFC veterans Rich Clementi, Yves Edwards and Houston Alexander.

"This will be the biggest card ever done, probably in the Northeast," said [promoter Corey] Fischer. "The UFC is coming here in August and they’re going to have a hard gate to beat. I think this fight card will be better than what they’re bringing."

"It’ll be on pay-per-view and shown live in Korea, Poland, Canada and about 14 other countries," said Fischer. "This will have more viewers than (the UFC’s) show."

As of now, Moosin will be the first big MMA organization to come to Boston. As announced earlier, Bellator Fighting Championships will head to the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre on May 6 and the UFC makes its Massachusetts debut on August 28 at the TD Garden.


The promoter is dumb if he thinks this will outsell a UFC ppv...but it may just be hype talk. In other Tim Sylvia news, his fight with Wes Sims that the Ohio State Athletic Commission denied is going to be held in Canada. So we all got that going for us. Lots of Tim Sylvia action incoming in the first part of the year!

So the ufc is planning a surprise card to counter program strikeforces next card on CBS on the same day. As an extra kick to the balls for strikeforce the ufc is also planning to hold their card in the same state. No info on the main event for this card but them going this far to fuck with strikeforce is pretty damn funny.

There is also a good ol WEC card on this weekend. Bantamweight title fight and miguel torres are fighting too so it should be good.

Shit's annoying, MMA is better when there's more than one promotion around. That being said, Strikeforce is going to get buried in ratings regardless of what the UFC does. There is just no big draw on that card, sadly.

I really hope they do the shows a week apart so I can go to both. Living in TN I don't get to go to many live events anymore. I don't think the UFC could put a better card up this soon, so I'd probably end up at the Strikeforce show if they ran the same night.
