I was dicking around on the computer while watching the Dream show and my roomie was fast forwarding...so I didn't notice the hour long break in the middle of the Barnett fight. I went back to watch his fight today and what in the flying fuck?? I REALLY wanna know what the Dream officials and "doctors" were saying to Mighty Mo. He kept getting pissed and yelling at them, saying he couldn't go on, and they kept saying something back. I would almost bet they were either threatening to take his money or offering him more money to continue the fight. He had a legit 15 minute break where he shouldn't have had more than 5 at the max. That was one of the weirdest fights I've ever seen.

I thought the "5 minute break to pop a pinky back in" during the Buentello fight was stranger.

The super long delay in the Barnett fight was annoying, but I'd rather see that and the fight start back up than have it end in 52 seconds from a single groin strike.

Anyone have some links to the Dream fights? I only got to see 4 of the fights.

Minowaman is always a favorite.

This weekend I'm pretty excited for UFC, it's on the proper night now so I won't feel weird watching it.

Pardon me if this was posted already. But Vera got fucked up REALLY BAD by Jones lol:

Brandon Vera received more than a bruised ego on Sunday at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo.; a fearsome elbow strike from opponent Jon Jones left the UFC light heavyweight with facial fractures and an unknown return date.

In the night's Versus-televised main event, Jones landed the blow as he postured up in Vera's guard midway through the first round. Vera rolled to his side in visible pain when the shot slammed into the right side of his face near his eye socket.

The strike caused three fractures in Vera's right cheekbone, the fighter's manager, Matt Stansell, today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

"The whole right side of Brandon's face was numb," Stansell said.

The purpose of MMA is entertainment. Yeah a win is a win, but if you put on consistently boring fucking fights.... don't expect to progress very far in the sport at a pro level.

There's exceptions to every rule.

I would venture to say that even though Couture is a boring ass fighter, he is still VERY marketable. His name still has drawing power, so he is still put on the cards.

He has drawing power because he wasn't supposed to be in there against the 20 year olds at his age, but he kept pulling off upset after upset, that's when people started cheering for him.

I also agree that the fights should be entertaining, but what is classified as entertaining varies from person to person. I personally love to watch expert jujitsu artists at work (I'm not saying Fitch is an expert in jujitsu, but he is good).

Something about St-Pierre rubs me the wrong way. I use to think he was an ok guy but in the show they had on the other night he made the comment that Dan Hardy was not a true martial artist. That is a bullshit thing to say.

I hope Hardy pulls off a miracle.

gsp thinks martial artists are gentleman and don't really trash talk so in that definition hardy isn't really a martial artist but that is the exact reason he has got this title shot so it works for hardy
