I only read over the diaz article quickly but I don't really see it being his fault. He had an agreement for how drug tests would work and then the agreement was broken and he didn't have enough time to guarantee a clean test. As far as I know the ufc were the only org to get random drugs tests leading up to their fights and it was usually only for top fighters, all other orgs would just drug test normally. I can't remember if it's the nsac or the csac that had a regime change of sorts so that may be why the miscommunication happened since the new guy wasn't aware of past policy with diaz.
best #4# fighter guys.
Also, request thread just be named mma thread or something more general.
I agree. But if the idiot didn't smoke weed in the first place he wouldn't be in this situation at all.I only read over the diaz article quickly but I don't really see it being his fault. strikeforce card still have awesome fight that is mousassi vs sobral, i dont give a fuck about carano vs cyborg no matter how much they hype it and why the heck they put werdum in the undercard, should switch herion vs taylor fight with those 2.
The idiot is legally allowed to smoke weed and since he would stop 2 weeks before the agreed to testing date I don't see it as a problem at all especially when the testing date is moved without sufficient notice. I think the commission should test for drugs like that on fight night to make sure the fighter is acting completely as himself but recreation drugs leading up to the fight should be omitted from testing since that is really up to the fighter and doesn't effect the fight itself, the commission should be concerned with fights not with being a part time DEA.
god this fucking kills me. i know most of you dont like him but shit, thats my boy. i was soooooo excited to see him in a 5 round fight. god fucking dammit
I am going to second the motion to have the thread title changed. Since this is the first thing I've done since my workout tonight I just wanted to share that I successfully closed a Captain of Crush gripper #2 tonight. That will probably mean nothing to you guys...but I am jacked about it and needed to share. lol
Yes they are. I use them after a pull workout and my grip strength has increased a ton. I just ordered a #2.5 and a #3. I am going to start doing negatives on the 3, although I have doubts that I'll be able to get one of those bastards closed. They have lists for people who close those. It is insane.
Translation: He went to a California doctor who advertises with a billboard featuring a big pot leaf, told him about his bullshit fake anxiety issues that could easily be controlled with another medication that doesn't prevent him from fighting, and has fun getting high and not giving a fuck about his rabid fans who defend him til their fingers fall off on internet message boards.
It really shouldn't matter how legit his reason for smoking is but if it's technically legal you can't really rag on him for smoking. I'm not really a rabid fan either, and I also don't think it matters whether he likes his fans or not, I couldn't care less about that. He has done the exact same thing for his past however man fights as he did for this fight and we were all mostly fine with him then, the only reason this fight is different is because of something largely outside his control.
I guess I missed the argument - he didn't know he was going to get tested for marijuana, despite failing marijuana tests in the past? Or he thought his marijuana usage was ok because it's medical?
I like to rag on Diaz because of his unjustified fanbase, this just makes it more fun. I don't believe for a second that his marijuana scrip is legit (he doesn't have fucking cancer or glaucoma) so I don't feel an ounce of sorrow for him.
inb4 people flood in here to tell me of all the great benefits of marijuana
What I understand it is that Diaz and the commissioner had an agreement that he would get tested the day of his fight just like usual, and because of this diaz stops smoking 2 weeks before the fight to be clean and the commissioner also knew this. This fight however he was told he needs to take a test 1 week or so before the fight date (just 1 week after he stopped smoking) and he was only given a day or so notice on this new testing procedure. He may or may not be clean after 1 week without smoking but if he takes it and fails the test he can't fight again for a year so he can't risk the test.
The last test he failed was in japan and I'm not sure what kind of tests they use since they are seen as much more forgiving and slack on tests (steroid suspicion and what not)
And people wonder why I dislike the Diaz brothers. I'm glad JT Money gets a spot on the Strikeforce card, he's been very active lately, not to mention his hot streak.
so howabout that kimbo
My thoughts on Kimbo is whether or not he wins the Ultimate Fighter he'll eventually get some matches in the UFC just as other fighters who didn't win TUF have done (Florian, Leben, Koscheck, Browning etc...).
I understand what you're saying Blarg. I agree with it to a certain extent. Here's my major issue with Diaz and what he's doing. He's "legally" allowed to smoke weed to treat a supposed medical condition. Diaz also full well knows that a positive test is going to stop him from fighting. Everytime he's smoking up he's taking his career into his own hands and flushing it away. There are millions of people with hyperactivity that are treated using prescription medications. Adderall and Ritalin are two of the most commonly used psychostimulants and I'm fairly sure are 80%ish effective. And they will also not give you a positive test result from the athletic commission. Now I can't say whether or not he's ever been on said drugs, but you would think you would try everything else before resorting to marijuana. The idiot is legally allowed to smoke weed and since he would stop 2 weeks before the agreed to testing date I don't see it as a problem at all especially when the testing date is moved without sufficient notice. For me, here's the bottom line. Diaz enjoys smoking up, hell, most people do. But until this idiot decides to take his career seriously we can expect to see this in the future. He can try to blame the commission all he wants. In the end they aren't the ones handing him the bowl. And according to Sherdog, the commission attempted to contact Diaz and Gracie from Saturday all through Monday to attempt to find an alternate solution with no response from Diaz's camp. If he wants to be taken seriously it's time to put the bowl down and find an alternative.
unjustified fanbase lol
