After reading that quote. Its clear to see that Machida was purposely trying to be more aggressive with his strikes as compared to the last match where he knew he was always behind on strikes. There were a few instances where he got caught unnecessarily and it felt that the fight was rushed in a Machida stand point.

Maybe his goal was to win every round? Shogun really had his number in strikes though. Take downs were favoring Machida.

Lyoto lost badly. I was telling my brother that Shogun's experiance in PRIDE helped him when fighting Lyoto. Lyoto fights like alot of Japanese fighters, which would throw off most UFC fights that havent been to Japan.
