Nice to see Franklin win. He was a teacher at my High School while I was there, lol. I think he went for the kill because if he lost, it pretty much meant retirement.

Anyone as excited about the Lesnar vs Carwin fight as i am? I cant wait for it. Just hoping its not a shit fight. I have a feeling Lesnar is going to be working greatly on his take downs and looking for the mount.

I havnt actually seen much of Carwins fights but arent most if not all of them KOs within the first round? Has anyone seen any of his takedown defense or ground game? Will be interesting to see how Lesnar takes a punch.

If you believe the UFC hype videos he has 12 first round stoppages and 200% of those are KO's!!! Thankfully he is no longer 6'5 and has returned to his natural height.

To me Carwin isn't really all that impressive skill wise. What he does have is power and he can throw a straight punch which has been enough to win him most fights. I think in the Gonzaga fight he was down for a while but was able to wall-walk back up using the cage, I don't think he is the kind of guy who will prioritize submissions off his back over trying to stand back up. How he got the ground in the first place was from a single leg/leg sweep, but it was also shortly after getting hit pretty solid so he may have been seeing double which let the TD happen so easily.

Carwin did show some good usage of uppercuts in the clinch against Mir which along with his power and straight punches gives him a decent chance to win but I think Brock does everything else better than he does and appears to be much more of a natural athlete.

Carwin has really good dirty boxing and clinch work...the problem is that he's been stronger than everyone he has fought. That ends now. He won't be able to grab Brock like he did Mir and just impose his will. Brock will most likely throw a couple punches and then shoot in. I honestly don't see anyone in the Heavyweight division stopping one of Brock's takedowns. They are not just technically sound...but they come really fast and with more strength than 10 oxen. He has a speed when he changes levels that I haven't seen in a Heavy since Kurt Angle and Rulon Gardner. I really wish he would have come out of college in an Olympic year...he could have been a legend instead of a WWE "Superstar".

Brock is going to put Carwin on his back...sit in guard or x-guard and reign down the fury. I have him by TKO in the second.

imo Brock is just way too big for him, and I don't see anyone having the power to knock him out save Fedor and maybe Toney?

This is a helluva fight for Brock to return to after the illness though, should be interesting.

I would have to say that this should be the end for Liddell. Franklin came out and made sure people remember the Ace of old.

Agreed. As far as the 116 fight, I'm hoping Carwin takes it, but I think Lesnar has all the advantages.

I'm watching, I almost forgot about it since this has gotten almost no coverage at all. I really like KJ now, back in the elitexc days I thought he was a bit annoying but he is pretty impressive and I like seeing some good boxing work that most other strikers are missing.

Good fights so far...but this show is HORRIBLE. The two minutes of complete silence after each fight is unreal. Every piece of production for this show has been bad. I used to like all three men announcing...now I hate them. I am very sad that this good night of fights has been ruined by a horrible show.

This, but honestly I think if Carwin were to train fulltime like Lesnar does, he could easily be just as good an athlete as he is. I like both of 'em, the fight should be good.

I'm sure Lesnar has better cardio work as well, Carwin hasn't allowed a match passed the first round >.>

You are naive if you don't think that Shane is training full time now. He started off doing this part time, but now that he's main eventing and getting title shots...he is definitely a full time fighter. They like to play up the weird quirks like that, like Franklin being a teacher. Pretty sure he hasn't done much engineering work lately.

So, not sure who watched Lawlor v Sobral last night, but Robbie got some ribs fucked up I think. That body kick was nice...had a footprint for the rest of the fight. You could tell right after it landed that he wasn't feeling well anymore. I wonder if he didn't fuck up his hand also. He stopped throwing punches like normal and even dropped his left hand to his side a few times.

New vid of Lesnar training with Couture, he looks even better than before. I really can't wait for this fight.
