I don't think the griffin fight was stopped early (thanks to the view the camera showed that we got to see) but I think from the view the ref had he jumped in a bit early and was lucky that it ended up being the right call. Griffin was basically on auto pilot holding himself up but he wasn't actually conscious until a few seconds after the stoppage.

Agreed. His whole upper body was limp while Gomi was about to reign down punches...would have been unnecessary. The Jones stoppage seemed a bit early to me...but Maty didn't protest which means he knew he was a goner. Was great to see Gomi win. They said Jones weighed 225 last night. That kid is going to have to be a heavyweight in the future. Once he finishes growing into his body he is going to be a monster. To be that good at 23 is insane...just imagine that he won't be at full strength for another 7 years. lol

I agree to a point here, but the biggest problem I can see is, Jones is walking around a 220ish, and even if he does put on some more weight, I can't see him competing against the guys who has to cut weight to make 265. Lesnar for one is great at using his size to his advantage, and so is big country. Jones' biggest strength now is being able to overpower his opponents and inflict some nasty ground and pound, but I don't see him doing that against the bigger HWs.

This is why I'd like to see another weight class put in between HW and LHW. That will give more of the smaller HWs a chance at a title imo.

Jones already "walks" at 230, he showed up to camp at 230+. his frame is still going to full out big time, he doesn't even have grown man strangth. When all is said and done he is going to be a freakishly athletic 250+. I really dont see him having any problem. Besides when this is all said and done the two guys you mentioned will be pushing 40 and carwin will be well beyond.
