Until the UFC has a super heavyweight division, I wouldn't want to see anyone who can reasonably cut to 205, fight heavyweight. Its not that I don't think Jones is skilled, but I don't think he could hold his own against guys like Lesnar or Carwin. Hell, even Mir has talked about dropping down to fight at 205. Jones could be a top dog at 205, but I don't think he could make a title run for 265. Why move up a weight class if you can't viably get a title shot?

It would be a few years down the line. eventually his frame is going to get too big for 205. its not like spider who can jump between the two.

This is what I was getting at, and it's not just Jones, there's a lot of "Heavyweights," that could cut to 205 if they tried, that wouldn't stand a chance with the real 265+ Heavyweights.

And there's a difference between someone who puts on 50+ pounds of muscle and someone who was always walking around at 265+

There should be a cruiserweight division that is 206-235 or something in that range. The monsters at heavyweight are going to be too much for most guys that are 230 and below. However I don't really put Jon there because once he fills out he's going to be 250+ easily.

the heavyweight division would be entirely empty. mir, nog, cain, jds, gonzaga, could all easily weigh in at 235 if they wanted to. that leaves what brock, shane, nelson, and duffee? shit i bet nelson could cut that fat and make 235. even a guy like overeem could cut to 235. there are not enough BIGMONSTERSOMGSMASH to warrant a whole separate divison.

He went down and then didn't attempt to cover up. Hands wide open. He might of been 'in there', but he was on auto-pilot for those few seconds.

Griffin showed no class when Gomi tried repeatedly to pay his respects. He lost a lot of points with me. If you don't want the ref to stop the fight early then don't go to your ground game face first. Howard had his night cut short cuz his eye was swollen but he didn't bitch about it. He gained a lot of points with me.

I cannot tell if Sonnen is really that confident or if he is just trying to sell tickets/make fans.

Either way I am really looking foward to this fight card.

I am hoping Roy "Big Belly" Nelson takes out all of the heavyweights and holds the title for a while...mostly because that would be hilarious.
