Kennedy noooo.
America come on.
wow, huge finish for the main event!
Lashley loses - who cares, what did he think those glamour muscles tacked onto his body were going to do
Noons win - I look forward to a diaz fight. when I first heard that noons beat Diaz a while back by cut I just assumed it was a fluke win but when I actually watched it it was a good fight where Noons handled himself very nicely. If Diaz keeps it standing, or fails to get a TD, I think Noons can beat him again. That last punch .5 second after the first round was just amazing to see and wonder wtf was going to happen.
Jacare win - I like how his stand up is evolving. Those push kicks seemed equal part pushy and damaging. I would have liked to see him try to work his ground game because he is amazing to watch.
Mo loss -![]()
Oh, and Sengoku is on tonight. Mostly lackluster but you get to see Hatsu Hioki, one of the best featherweights in the world and a grappling machine, Akihiro Gono, and a Santiago v Misaki rematch.
Lashley losing is meh, but they really dropped the ball with officiating in that match. They pause the fight when he's in full mount to check his eye, then restart them on their feet?
no, that ref actually stood the fight up from full fucking mount because of inactivity and then used that time to check the cut. that ref is an idiot
this misaki v santiago fight is pretty epic, if you were to describe these latter rounds you would use plenty of '!'
That was an amazing fight. Lashley went to the hospital after the fight and apparently hasn't gotten released yet. I wonder if it's just a concussion from the elbows or what...seems odd to hold him that long. I didn't expect him to be good, they expected him to be the next Brock Lesnar...he needs years of experience to catch up...which he doesn't have left in him. I wouldn't be surprised if this is his last MMA fight.
I like King Mo...but he wasn't ready to hold a title yet. His striking has a long way to evolve. He is going to be great one day though...such a student of fighting and takes everything really seriously in training. When is the last time a 205 champ defended the title and won? lol
Diaz will more then likely fight Mayhem next on the Oct. 9th card. The Lashley fight was freaking atrocious officiating from Mazzagatti, Lashley was active enough, it was a full fucking mount ffs. The King Mo lost wasn't a surprise at all considering how lackluster he looked against Mousasi.
Judging on that card was awful, I really don't know wtf was going on there (well actually I do, it was in Texas).
Noon's should have gotten into trouble for the illegal knee after the ref already stopped the fight, and also probably the shot after the bell in the first round. Lashley fight had that retarded restart for "inactivity" when you have full mount, and Grigg's was hitting him in the back of the head with the shots that eventually stopped the fight.
Strikeforce is always so close to putting together decent "big" cards, but something always fucks it up. That and despite the win, I fail to see why Feijao got a title shot, though I'll just chalk that up to the usual retarded matchmaking Strikeforce employs. On that note, since Lashley just lost, I expect him to challenge Overeem for the title here soon.
Not sure if it's been stated here yet but Fedor Vs. Big Foot seems imminent. AO will proceed to go back to Japan to hang out for 3 years with K-1 fights here and there.
If Overseem doesn't get Werdum, he said he's going to do the Grand Prix
maybe they can get a judge to prematurely stop the bad matchmaking decisions
Agreed, but no excuse for Rogers getting a title shot after losing to Fedor. That was just silly. They should do Werdum/Overeem even though I have no interest in the fight. Fedor v Big Foot isn't a horrible fight...and if he wins, let him have Overeem. At least pretend that wins and losses matter in your title picture.
