Overeem probably makes more money outside the UFC then he would make inside it. He fights like 5 times a year if you include K-1 and DREAM. UFC HW fighters tend to get a max of 2 fights per year (because there's not enough fighters in the division to go around).

And Fedor, well, there's the whole M-1 thing.


Alistair might join the UFC if he wins this GP. Fedor, I just don't see though.

Does strikeforce have the terrible champions clause where their champs cant leave? I am pretty sure they do and that shields only got around it because he was brought it on his original elitexc contract which didnt have that clause. HOPE ITS THE SAME FOR NICK DIAZ

Diaz would get mauled in the UFC's welterweight division, he still can't wrestle and only Strikeforce's striking-oriented roster hides that.

Overeem could become champion, all depends on where his wrestling is at and whether or not he'll fold under adversity like he used to. Think it's obvious is striking is as good as it gets in MMA, though JDS or Carwin or Cain could put the hurt on him if they land clean as his chin is not so great.
He's expressed an interest in the UFC but as long as he has K-1 aspirations it won't happen.

It's a shame, the heavyweight division is already thin compared to the other weight classes and the best talent is pretty evenly split between two rival orgs.

Not knocking Diaz. Was more making the point that besides Alves, there are 3-4 other guys who would grapple fuck the shit out of him. He wouldn't be in any contendership position any time soon.

With how often Diaz would end up playing guard is is more likely than most to get fucked by shitty judging even if he should win the fight. I think he could be a top 4-7 guy. If he fought the alves that fitch fought the second time he could win and be a top 3 guy but that's probably it.

Well it has felt like forever since good MMA has been on so it's good to see that drought come to an end tomorrow, it's also good because it's the start of about 7 straight weeks of strikeforce/ufc.

Evan Dunham vs. Melvin Guillard - Melvin can win a decision but I think dunham gets a mid to late sub
Matt Mitrione vs. Tim Hague - It's amazing the strides mitrione has made since the show, I think he gets a tko
Mark Hominick vs. George Roop - Remember when roop was the guy you said when you had to think of a fighter you could beat up yourself?
Patrick Barry vs. Joey Beltran - Limbs staying intact I think barry puts a beatdown on beltran. That is, if he can stay on his feet.
Cole Miller vs. Matt Wiman
Cody McKenzie vs. Yves Edwards - I think cody will look BAD in this fight.
DaMarques Johnson vs. Michael Guymon - Changed my mind on this, either way loser is going to be cut

judges can screw up any kind of fight. I'm not saying that if it goes to decision that guillard will win but that trying to win rounds and going to decision is his best chance.
