Ideally yes and if Evans was healthy he probably would've needed another fight, but at this point there's no one else. Evans's knee just exploded, Machida has lost 2 in a row, Rampage has gone 1-1 in his last two and publicly said he felt he lost the fight he won, Bader just got knocked off, Lil Nog is in no position, and you'd be hard pressed to argue Griffin deserves it more for getting a close split decision over Ortiz and a dull UD over a middleweight after being brutally stopped in back-to-back fights.

Shogun has been out of action for a year now and needs a fight. Jones's ledger is a little thin but he's dominated every fight he's ever been in and there's no one else.

don't see why anyone's panties are bunching over this or saying, zomg Brock treatment!! he's a fine replacement and it sure beats making Shogun sit out for many more months until Jackson-Silva is decided or something.

well I would say that is more to do with him, at the time, being a great 205'er fighting people at the same weight and what he did at HW was being a good 205'er fighting people much larger

Oh also.. I am really fucking excited for Feijao vs Hendo, that is going to be a fucking war. I am routing for Hendo but I am pretty worried for him. Feijao is fuckin nuts, he beat King Mo convincingly, and trains with Anderson Silva regularly.

Anyone here at all excited for it? OH shit also the Heavyweight GP is this weekend on my fucking birthday, I want to see Fedor win... for sure. Would be the best birthday ever if he fucking Zulu's through bigfoot.

also anyone that thinks jones doesnt deserve this shot is captain retardo. guy walks through everyone that is supposed to be his "best test yet" i guarantee forrest wants NO part of him. he trains with amazing fighters, his coach is too good, and he picks up everything like a sponge. He would body rampage who is just about the least dynamic fighter at the top of any division and wrestlefuck thiago silva. an argument could be made for machida i guess but it would prob just be a lot of those two jumping in and out and kicking at eachothers body. shogun is his only challenge in the division.

i dont understand how he was hurt bad enough to not be able to fight in late march but will be fine to get a training camp in and fight rampage in may.

I don't think this is all that fishy because a title shot was given up. Rashad had decided to sit out for a long time just to ensure that title shot so I don't think he would collude in something that takes that shot away.

Rashads injury was basically a sprain which requires 'rest' basically for a month or so which would have been the remainder of his time before the title fight. A fight against rampage 2 months later is enough time to have a training camp once his knee is better.

The Thiago injury is the only thing 'fishy' really but I don't think it's tied into rashad pulling out of the title fight.
