I think it would be a great fight. Shogun looked fucking slow, 10 month layoff didn't help.

You can see shogun tapping in this ,gif

gotta give it to him, to last 3 rounds getting worked over like that and still be able to stand.

Pretty sure no one is a threat to Jones in his and any lower divisions. But once he feels he's ready to move up to HW his career is over. I would pay money to see Ubereem ragdoll him if he were to move up to HW. Alistair will undoubtedly be signed in the UFC after Strikefarce is over with.

I'm glad they caught Shogun tapping to strikes. So many Pride nuthuggers bashed GSP on Sherdog for tapping to Serra, but this is oh so delicious

Not necessarily. White had said he's planning to keep Strikeforce around. Plus, Overeem may not even want to sign... White has expressed interest in signing him before, but Overeem has said in interviews that their exclusive contracts were an issue, since he competes around the world and in K-1. Especially since he's now the K-1 champion and the Dream HW champion as well. But all speculation for now. Who knows, maybe White will offer him a contract he can't refuse.

It wouldn't make business sense to keep strikeforce around past the showtime contract. Regardless of what they claim about keeping strikeforce I really doubt it will happen. At the very least it will get a name change to include UFC in some fashion as the UFC name sells more than the fighters do.

Dream and K-1 are in bad financial shape and may not even be able to run or afford giving overeem all those fights so he might not even have many options to fight overseas anyway.

With that said it will probably be 2012 before a merger happens and who knows how much jones will have improved in that time and overeems chances of winning drops every single week jones gets to improve.

One of the main reasons GSP vs Silva makes more sense instead of Silva vs Jones is that both gsp and silva have cleaned house in their division. Jones has a lot of names to scratch off still to get to their status. Not saying he can't do it but obviously he needs time.

I'm just glad Alistair isn't too old, the guy isn't going to stop anytime soon himself. Werdum is a dead man, I can't wait to see all that recent shit talk get demolished through his face by an uber knee.

Not hating on Overeem but it would be hilarious if Werdum submitted him again this time with a kimura on his other arm lol.

K1 hasn't even paid Alistair for winning the Grand Prix if rumors are true. Sad to say but it would seem Dream and K1 are dead. Alistair will sign with the UFC if other organizations can't pay him.

With Fedor out of the picture I'm now rooting for Sergei Kharitonov... honestly I think Overeem is kinda overhyped. He's probably a great fighter but imho kinda unproven. I mean he may be a great fighter but really who has he beaten that's of any consequence? Todd Dufee? Brett Rogers? Tony Sylvester? The only two people he's fought that deserves to be anywhere near a top 10 is Sergei and Werdum, both of whom have beaten him. Yes he's also beaten Sergei before, but Sergei was injured going into the fight. When they were both healthy Sergei knocked him out.

No question Alistair is a better fighter now than he was then, and probably does deserve a top 10 spot, and if he wins this tournament it'll prove it. But as of this moment imho calling him one of the best is a kinda premature.

That's so sad. I've always wanted to go to Japan so I could watch the K-1 GP.

Alistair has unquestionably been without a real challenger for years, so there's no wonder he hasn't lost since Kharitov? I think? But that's not why he's so overhyped, it's because of the way he's been killing these Tin-Cans. Sure, Brett Rogers isn't the most technical guy, but he's a big-fuckin-boy, and Alistar tossed him around like a ragdoll. Sure, James Thompson has the Jay Leno chin, but did you see that HUGE FLYING KNEE, where he almost flies out of the ring while taking his head out? Not to mention that he finally won the K1-GP. I think that despite the level of talent faced, Ubereem is a monster, and it'll take one helluva fighter to take him out. I willing to bet that he kingcrushes Werdum in the first round, since i see Werdum on the Brett Rogers type level of competition. Sure, he's beaten Overeem before, but that was prehorsemeat, and this is the same fighter that got out bitchslapped by Arlovski, KOd by an unexperienced Dos Santos, and got dropped twice by leg kicks in the Gonzaga fight, until Gonzaga gassed hard.

Sliva has always been my favorite fighter to watch. His kicks are so deadly.

    This.

FEG owes a lot of fighters a lot of money and there's speculation it's not going to stay afloat going into 2012. If this happens AO will most certainly make the move to the UFC.

If Bellator would make their contracts a bit less restrictive they could probably pick up some talent in the coming years.

Does bellator have guys above middleweight? I don't even know.

The disaster in Japan has in my mind cemented the death of K1, they're gone.

People complain about Bellator, but I like the way they do business and who they've signed so far. In the long run I think they'll creat their own divisions that will become proven and tested. Atm, they're a little thin, granted (cept featherweight, which is only a small step behind the UFC's imo). But with the budget they have, every season they seem to get some great talent.

Also, this season has been great so far.

No, he got injured so he couldn't fight. He fights at a place where he no longer feels he's getting all the attention, now that jones came into the picture.

Just Rashed thinking he's the shit.
