Glad to see BJ fighting again so quickly. I hate long layoffs and BJ has said he does as well. He said he wants to fight a lot more and I hope they oblige him.

Don Frye breaks silence on "M-1 Breakthrough" withdrawal, blames organization for change - UFC - Yahoo! Sports

While the executives of M-1 Global are no strangers to controversy and criticism, the organization's upcoming "M-1 Global presents Breakthrough" took a hit when original headliner Don Frye backed out of his fight with Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal.

While M-1 Global CEO Joost Raimond immediately went on the offensive, issuing a press release that questioned Frye's motives for backing out, "The Predator" remained relatively silent on the subject.

That is, until now.

"I didn't drop out; I walked away," Frye recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (MMAjunkie.com Radio | MMAjunkie.com). "I didn't want to talk to anybody about this, but I'll talk to you fellas because you're my amigos.

"This is business that should be conducted between me and Joost, or Roost, whatever his name is. But he got on the internet and did a Dana White/Perez Hilton internet blog and started talking [expletive]."

Raimond's statements suggested Frye may have simply been looking for a way out of the fight with Lawal, and that he used the seemingly simple relocation of the Aug. 28 event from Los Angeles to Kansas City, Kan., as his ticket out of the event.

Frye insists that's not an accurate representation of what happened.

"Here's the deal: [The event] didn't just move from L.A.," Frye said. "It went from the Staples Center to the L.A. Convention Center. From the L.A. convention center to the Hilton in Las Vegas. From the Hilton in Las Vegas to an Indian casino on the Oklahoma-Texas border. From the Indian casino on the Oklahoma-Texas border to an Indian casino up in Tulsa, which is North Oklahoma. And from there up to Kansas City, Mo.

"So you know, after four or five times changing the venue, and then we asked [Raimond] 'Hey, what are you doing for advertising? Are you sending a photographer out to Don's house?' He says, 'No, we're just going to use stock photos off the Internet.'"

With a complete lack of faith in the promoter, Frye said he made the difficult decision to walk away.

"So they don't know where the hell they're going to have it," Frye said. "They're not putting any money into advertising. So at that point we said, 'You know what? You just ain't got your [expletive] together. We're walking away.'"

Frye said he would have been happy keeping quiet about the entire situation, but Raimond's release forced him to speak.

"That's something that's between me and Joost, but he had to go and get on the [expletive] Internet and pull this [expletive], so then it opened it up to the whole [expletive] world," Frye said. "That's his fault, not mine.

"The position of douchebag fight promoter, who thinks he's tough because he hangs out with fighters and insults fighters that position's already taken. We don't need that, OK?"

After walking away from the M-1 Global event, Frye will instead face Dave "Pee Wee" Herman in the main event of "Shark Fights 6: Stars & Stripes" on Sept. 12 in Amarillo, Texas.

"Geez, Louise, this guy's 6-foot-4, 240 (pounds)," Frye said. "(He's) 14-1. Who signed me up for this son-of-a-bitch?

"I may have to reach up and punch him in the kneecap."

Don Frye Volunteers To Fight Fedor

MMA legend Don Frye will return to action on Aug. 28 to face Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal at M-1 Global's first major U.S. show in Los Angeles.

But he'd happily step in to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction "Trilogy"... if promoter Tom Atencio will let him.

"If Tom was smart, he'd have me fighting Fedor instead of whoever he's hiring on a one week notice," Frye told MMAInsider. "My phone works if he wants a real fight with someone who sell a fight in four days, somebody who will beat that bald-headed commie too."

In fact, Frye said the only reason he was fighting Lawal was to get an eventual shot at Emelianenko.

"He ain't seen anything I have to offer," continued Frye. "He built his whole reputation (as a) waffle house chef. They've been serving him up ham and eggs with a side of canned tomatoes. I'll bring it. And if he can bring it, you'll have the best fight you've ever seen on the planet."

That man is so awesome. Every interview he gives is amazing. He also happens to have one of the most exciting 45 seconds in MMA history. I will never get over seeing him throwing and receiving punches like a madman. I laughed my ass off that he called Fedor a commie also...that is so money. Strikeforce needs to make that shit happen.

I think Jardine walks right through thiago. Silva has been rocked in a bunch of his fights and doesn't have the best chin, his punches looked slow against machida so I don't really see him landing too many shots. If silva stays standing I see him getting hit a bunch and being ko'd.

Well both houston and wand blitzed jardine so it appears fast starts can hurt jardine. silva could do this which makes the fight risky to bet on if you put stock in that. I think jardine is just the better fighter, silva has only fought 1 top competition in machida and, even though machida is the best 205, he was beaten most easily out of anyone and rocked several times in that fight. Jardine has landed big shots on houston, rampage and chuck all recently which makes me think he can hit silva, assuming he survives a potential blitz. I don't think it's good money at 150, maybe at 200ish.

i think the most dangerous thing about jardine is that greg jackson is his trainer and he is the best in the biz. but he is also nate's trainer and w/ two guys fighting at 102 out of his camp maybe he couldnt get in enough time with the dean of mean keith jardine. if the lines moved to +200 i would be all over it, that being said i will be hard pressed to not at least bet a few hundred at +150

i know silva gets stunned / knocked down in like every fight but he always seems to recover pretty well, i like his patience. and after watching his little spot on countdown i am excited about his redemption after being humiliated by machida.

To be honest dude, I think MMA is a very difficult sport to bet on. That being said you are betting on 2 people who have questionable chins. I think it is anyones game, go for the bet on silva, but keep that bet at 100 dolla and put the rest on Randy.

Also, i am kind of dead to UFC's until shogun vs machida. I feel like a man who is covered in hot chicks; however, he is in a daze, not paying attention to any of them because there is a girl he is waiting for.

Dos Santos is one of the best fighters coming out of Chute Boxe since the great purge. God I love that gym, I wish they were better with their fighters so they wouldn't all leave. They have that golden boy syndrome :/. Fucking Rudimar Fedrigo...
