Now it seems like rampage is not in the A team and that was just a bullshit UK rumour.
Showtime has blocked off an Oct. 10th date for Strikeforce programming, but is saying that it is just a placeholder and could be changed. Rumor is that is the Fedor v Rogers card. Showtime went on to hint that they could be delaying announcement so that UFC doesn't counter-program. I think that I would want as much time to promote that fight as I could...UFC is going to counter-program no matter what so just deal with it and bring a good card, we'll tune in.
UFC put together the anderson vs irvin fight rather quickly for spike as a counter program so I don't think trying to wait them out is a good idea. They would just toss on a recent ppv for free if they don't have time to make a real card on that date.
Actually, isn't oct 10 the WEC show? If it is then the ufc won't counter program at all since it would hurt themselves.
It seems strange that strikeforce hasn't been able to have a cbs show yet, when I heard the fights on the last card I thought for sure that would be on cbs and to not even have fedor be able to force cbs to show a card is pretty bad.
Steven Soderbergh Casts Gina Carano as a Knockout
By Krystal Clark
Filmmaker Steven Soderbergh really does make his movies for “grown ups.” Soderbergh’s last film, The Girlfriend Experience featured a professional porn actress as it’s lead, and for his next project entitled, Knockout he wants to keep that level of authenticity going. According to Variety, the director has cast real life MMA fighter Gina Carano as the lead actress in the action film.
Knockout is a spy thriller that will be directed by Soderbergh and financed by Relativity Media. The story centers on “a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is given a second chance to use her skills for constructive purposes.” It’s described as a flat out action film with hints of James Bond, La Femme Nikita, and Kill Bill. Even though it involves plenty of fighting it doesn’t take place inside of a ring. The director plans on surrounding Carano with several name actors in supporting roles.
Soderbergh must have faith in the script for this film written by Lem Dobbs (Limey, Kafka), because he waived his upfront salary. Carano is a lightweight division fighter in the professional mixed martial arts league, with a record that stands at 7-1. She’s also had acting stints on the revamp of American Gladiators, as well as the Showtime documentary, Ring Girls.
Since Knockout will be a straight laced action film I have no doubt that she’ll be able to carry it. On the other hand her acting skills are up for debate. That’s probably why Soderbergh wants to have her surrounded by several “name” actors. Somebody on the set has to know how to deliver a line, instead of a right hook.
What? He's questioning her acting skills and she's been acting like she has fighting talent for years.
/rimshot.
Rashad said in an interview that the UFC informed him that the fight isn't going to happen at 107. He said last PPV that Dana told him he was going to work it out, but it didn't happen. Gegard Mousasi was injured in the exhibition with Fedor and pulled out of the fight with Sokodjou at Dream 11.
Ya, I think it was publicists trying to deny he was in it until it was all officially announced.
I have my doubts about mousasi being injured, I think he just isn't too excited about dream super hulk and would rather get some real fights. He may be sore or slightly injured but I think it's the kind of thing he would have fought with had it been a more legit kind of tournament.
i hope they get King Mo to replace gegard so he can run that shit. also if mousasi really is hurt it just means i hate fedor even more
I agree. He came out with an interview last week bashing the shit out of Filho. Saying he only likes fighting in Japan 'cause he can roid up. He must have said or insinuated that Filho used steroids about 20 times in the article. It was a little much. He said he'd fight Paulo anywhere there's testing.
I am sure Rampage just wants to keep the role silent until the deal is done. A few other people have been rumored to have the role of BA in the movie as well, Common and the Game's names were on the IMDB page. Hopefully we'll get confirmation soon, Rashad would be starting training camp mid-october I'm guessing, so no real damage done if he lets him know before then.
Hopefully the movie makes rampage get into a bit better shape since long layoffs aren't too good for a lazy guy like him.
jonny bones jones gonna be whipping some deaf ass at the TUF finale. hell yea
i didnt see this picture posted yet, if it has been i apologize. noblemountain i do not think you are ready for this jelly

the belts, they compel you...
apparently he is gonna be in melvin guillard's corner at fight night. oh god
That is hilarious. I cannot think of anything I have ever wanted so bad. I don't care if the motherfucker fights heavy, I'll gain 20 lbs and fight. I am sitting at 185 right now...I usually fight at 170. I weighed 210 when I got out of the Army, so putting on the weight wouldn't be a problem. He looks like he's a 205'er in that pic...but it's so hard to tell, he may be 5'3". I wish he still had the pony tail...he deserved a beatdown just for that.
I still haven't found anyone that knows him...I am sending an e-mail with my proposal to his agent...we'll see if I get a response.
The sleeve work he has done on his right arm is pretty sick, except for the stupid fucking spider web over the elbow.
That being said, I still hope you whip his ass.
Sorry, but I just came across this .gif and immediately thought of Noblemountain's victory celebration he should have after beating the Green Ranger.
