Phan won that fight with his jab, every single time he came in he came in he came in behind a jab, doubled up on it, finished combos with it, used it to distract Garcia and set up body shots + hooks, used it to maintain the proper range so he could always (well always but 1) step out of haymaker range. his mechanics on it weren't even that great but he utilized it about as well as anyone in MMA has. these guys should really lock themselves in a boxing gym for a year it's the most basic punch, it's the most important punch, but it's so damn rare to see someone use it correctly for an entire fight.
