Yes, I'm sure Overeem's victory over Buentello was quite the epic feat to win the SF HW championship lol. Fact remains, Lesnar is much more accomplished and has fought and beaten the better competition in MMA then Overeem has.

he shouldnt have been out there throwing leg kicks. he should have put his head into JDS's chest and taken him down Chael Sonnen style.

It's a toss up fight anyways in my opinion. I think on any given night these guys can beat each other.

JDS has good takedown defense AND a brown belt in jiujitsu. taking him down would have been no simple task, and cain was softening his legs up to set up the takedowns he'd use later. it was a sound strategy but he just wasn't aggressive enough with it, imho.

agreed. again he should have pushed it harder, just like brock & dana said after the fight but to rush into the takedowns could have been a big mistake too.

i'm a big fan of cain so this was a supremely disappointing fight for me. that being said, i do always get a little giddy when i see a striker get a decisive win over a grappler.

This.

I think JDS's TDD is vastly underrated. He stuffed Carwin easily the whole fight but I think Cain with the better cardio could have pushed it at a more aggressive pace and got a takedown. Cain needs to get it out of his head he's a striker or some shit.

JDS simply proved that the Chuck Liddell style of MMA is still strong and effective. Hands + TDD is a pretty fantastic strategy.
