You will see when he moves up to his real weight class in a year or two.
You will see when he moves up to his real weight class in a year or two.
That would mean he's losing the belt in that time frame, don't see that happening tbh.
Ever heard of title unification? Can you seriously name anyone that poses any serious threat to JBJ right now? I am pretty positive he will want to move up/ fight the HW champion for a unification at some point.
If that was the case, why hasn't Anderson defended in a higher weight class? He's held it for about that time.
A Silva is very adamant about staying at MW, it's his class, he raped and owned that division. Maybe he's afraid he will lose to JBJ? I know there was allegedly a Silva vs GSP unification fight in the works until the Sonnen fight happened.
I don't know about you but JBJ vs JDS sounds like an amazing fight.
There's no unification anything, no idea where you're getting that bit of info. It's been stated countless times by Dana and whoever's relevant that if GSP were to move up to fight Silva he'd vacate the title. There's no such thing as title unifications in the UFC.
there's no such thing as unifying between weight classes in any combat sport. there are a few boxers who hold multiple weight class belts, but they're not "unified", they defend them individually. they could do the same thing in the UFC, but the prep time between fights would make it impossible to defend both in a fair way, so dana would make them vacate one.
Well when he does move up maybe it's because by then he will have filled out more and will no longer be able to make 205, making him an ACTUAL hw. He isn't even the biggest 205 fighter in that weight class so stop fucking bitching. He doesn't cheat to make 205 so pretending like he picks on people who weigh less than him is retarded.
WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Hendo vs Rampage was a title unification fight.

That's right motherfucker.
Wow blarg, what the fuck is up your ass? Why are you even taking it that personal? Jones HIMSELF has stated he would be interested in moving up along the years.
It was a unification fight, and you said UFC doesn't do unification fights. No trolling, no retard, just a fact.
If we start breaking it down to semantics here, now that's retarded. Shouldn't matter if it was a belt from pride, the fact is there WAS a unification bout. Weight classes be damned, never say never dumbass.
Wow you're awful.
I'm all for guys (GSP, Silva, possibly JBJ in the future) trying to hold both belts at once and defending them, but arguing that JBJ isn't a "real LHW" is fucking retarded. You make the weight, you are in that class. That's it.
Okay so your just new to MMA, or any combat sport for that matter. I'll break it down Barney style for you.
There is no such thing as unifying titles between divisions, which is what you originally stated to begin with. Fighters don't magically create a new division when they win in different weight classes, they either defend them in both classes or, and this is the important part, in the UFC's case they vacate one of them. There is no such thing as JBJ moving up to HW to "unify" the LHW AND HW division and creating a LHW-HW title.
They chose to go the UFC. Nick Diaz had to give up his SF belt, along with Hendo/Overeem, because they left SF which still exists as it's own organization entirely with it's own roster still competing ultimately for a title.
I can't believe I have to explain this shit lol.
lol, I'm not angry or anything it's just this opinion of yours is pretty common and very dumb. Let me tell you, it doesn't matter at all if jones said he would move up or not. The fact that he makes 205 now, and other LHW are bigger than him, means that saying he's a 'HW fighting at LHW' or HW is his 'real class' is WRONG. Do you want to know a quick and easy way to know if he is actually a HW? It's if he isn't able to make LHW, and guess what, he can, and has, over and over.
Despite him making weight, he still makes other LHW's (other than bonnar?) look a weight class below him. Overeem was a LHW when he started, him and Jones have similar physical attributes, I definitely see him moving up once he's cleaned the LHW division. But he isn't the only person that gets accused of being too large for his weight class.
I can't even believe it was actually legal for Anthony Johnson to be a welterweight.. now that is fucking ridiculous. Dude is humongous, could probably even give Jones a good fight if he really wanted to.
Dude, he has the legs of miguel torres. His upper body is large but he carries no weight in those legs. There is a reason the divisions are based on weight and not on height/reach etc so if someone makes the weight then that is all that needs to be said. For those people who do cut a billion pounds they often compensate their size for reduced stamina or energy so if someone makes the weight then that should be all there is to it.
AJ on the other hand has missed weight several times so you could actually make the argument he is a MW in a WW body and since he is fighting Belfort next that appears to be correct.
And I thought I was a retard when I first started watching MMA.
