Wow, Miguel Torres was released from the UFC for some bullshit tweet about rape vans while Rashad/Griffin get off with the same shit with a slap on the wrist. UFC needs to implement a Code of Conduct, somethings wrong when Chris Leben can juice up and get high off oxycodone all day and still be able to keep his job. Double standards are never good for any sport.

There was quite a big difference between torres/Griffins comment.

Griffin was commenting on how much media coverage there was in a stupid way, Torres was actually making a joke about rape.
Not idea about rashads.

Do agree about drug cheats though, Leben/Sonnen can dope as much as they want, make a bad rape joke on twitter, uh oh!

the UFC has enough of an image issue with the mainstream without guys like Daley and Torres reinforcing the neanderthal stereotype

what Evans and Griffin said was just as stupid tho. White made an example out of the least marketable.

Dana needs to focus on building the BW division instead of thinning it out for politically correct bullshit. No one wants to see Faber/Cruz IV or Kenny Florian eventually getting shot.

Want to stop fighters from saying stupid shit? Establish a code of conduct that everyone has to adhere. Torres wasn't an example at all because its not going to stop anything, if anything it showed some fighters if you're popular enough you can say and do whatever the fuck you want.

There is also some degree of UFC blame given that they are paying fighters for their twitter status, and then expecting a bunch of fighters not to say dumb things occasionally.

I'd be surprised if Torres wasn't back with the UFC within a month. I can see the need for damage control and to punish him somehow so the opportunistic people opposed to the UFC can't make it into bad PR saying the UFC condones this kind of thing but firing him like that seems a bit too reactionary and eventually they will realize the reaction was a bit much.

After Faber/Cruz III, you'll get Faber/Cruz IV and then another token contender and you'll probably get Faber/Cruz V. I'm pretty sure that's what the BW division looks like anyways in the next year or so, look forward to it.
