It has a little use when you look back a guys career years down the road. If you weren't watching at the time, it allows you to put some kind of a gauge on who a guy was fighting at the time.

But yeah, people put way too much stock into rankings. Arguing if a guy should be #5 when he's #7, etc is all irrelevant bullshit... And don't even get me started on pound for pound.

Griggs may surprise a few people in the UFC, not sad to see him on the roster. Koch out of the fight vs Porier, Lamas in, Diamond by TKO in 2nd or 3rd.

Surprised UFC hasn't signed Shane del Rosario yet. He seems the most promising between the Chad Griggs and Lavar Johnsons.
