sucks, wonder what the dude could have been if he didn't get mangled by diverticulitis or started younger. hasn't looked like much of a fighter since he started getting hospitalized.

before that he was getting cracked by Randy and eating knees from Mir and fighting back. admittedly these bros hit harder but he just doesn't have any grit left.

Thankfully now that Brock is retiring we no longer need to divide the HW division into 2 weight classes because he was simply too big for everyone and it wasn't fair to fight against him.

Overeem's striking was effective in K-1 because he based the majority of his defense on the big ass gloves with no worries of a take-down attempt. He arguably got out-struck by freaking Werdum when those factors came into play lol.

EDIT: Not to mention the dude had the easiest road to win in the K-1 GP ever lol. Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

way more experience perhaps but JDS is still the far more technical boxer; his head movement & combinations are just amazing. overeem is just a power hitter, hell even werdum was winning the standup exchanges against him. i always felt he was way overrated even as just a striker.

his real strength is actually his knees, but i don't see JDS letting him get in that close for long enough amounts of time to really capitalize on that.

hopefully any mystique that overrated hack called brock lesnar is long over. i can still remember clearly when all the hype started going around about him. the guy's an insane physical specimen no doubt but he was never a great fighter. hopefully this fight really kills whatever mentality is left of that.

I would hope he wouldnt fight JDS the same way he fought Brock. Reem doesnt afraid of Brock's punches at all that fight.

I can't hate Brock, it seems if he won a fight he did it in good fashion, but if he lost...it was sad to watch.

i dont' want to seem like a Fanboy but the sheer Strength of Overeem IF he decides to pull any type of dirty boxing/Clinches will win out

should be an Awesome fight either way.
