The next time you read the pay scale for the fight read it and then forget it completely because it means almost nothing, especially when it comes to main card fighters.

I know but it's interesting what's posted, I seriously doubt Big Country made only 20k, they're sorta making Dana out to be a kyke

Majority of fighters don't want what they really make put on blast anyways. Tyson is famous for telling everyone he wished how much he made was a secret and how his life would've been a shit ton easier.

Nelson made $85,000 disclosed because of his FOTN bonus

who knows how much the fighters get paid in locker room bonuses or as a % of PPV, it's a private company and fighters don't say shit (like everyone else in every other profession) everything is speculation

A couple fighters have complained before, like Franklin. Who you'd assume made good money (and probably does). I generally don't care about fighter pay, but I do think a raise in the minimum fighter pay would be a good thing overall. I mean, some of the guys on the undercard still make less then 8k a fight, which isn't much higher then what fighters made 20 years ago.

Hell, before Pat Barry made his FotN/KotN bonuses for his Hardonk fight, the man was on a steady diet of rice and ketchup because that's what he could afford. And the guy had been on the UFC payroll for a year already... That's just plain silly.

Generally it's the guys on the undercard you gotta be worried about. Main eventers are doing fine. They'll make PPV percentages and all that. It's the dudes nobody knows you gotta worry about.

I'll agree on that. I think they should just take the loss and pay those starting fighters a bit more on their starting contracts. Even if they don't make that money back on the fighter it would be a minimal investment when considering all the money that goes into each event and that money is a huge deal to those guys.

Not really a loss tbh, owners of the company are making a ton of profit right now. Pre 2006/2007 I could understand low pay, but I'm not sure how I feel about working my ass off and potentially giving everything up to make 8k lol.

Well a loss in that no one buys the ticket/ pays for the ppv because of the no name undercard guy. So the money they pay them exceeds buys due to them. I don't really buy that argument when people make it but in a sense it has truth to it.

Yeah that's kind of a lame cop-out excuse. Unknowns have all the potential in the world to become the next big thing. Especially now since the young guys seem to be taking over the divisions.

If there's a fighter in the UFC, that means the Zuffa scouts thought the fighter had the potential to become a star. If they didn't, they wouldn't have brought them into the promotion to begin with.

If it's true that Carlos actually wants that I'm both surprised and impressed. He could have just sat still and got his title shot but to accept to fight a guy he just beat is pretty impressive.

Was inevitable with all the backlash and controversy the fight produced. Dana was bound to make it happen and is probably forcing Condit into it considering his team obviously didn't want anything to do with Diaz anymore and was going to wait for GSP.

Why is everyone surprised? Carlos gunna Haggar spin and leg kick for the points win again.

Being that the first fight was essentially a mirror of Shogun/Machida I, except this time leg kicks really didn't do anything except rack up numbers on the fight metric, I'm hoping someone gets KTFO in the rematch. Don't care who it is.

For some reason, when a championship fight inside the UFC is controversial, the rematch almost always ends brutally.

    Proof of concept: Hughes/Newton, Couture/Rizzo, Rua/Machida, Edgar/Maynard.

The only one that wasn't brutal was BJ/Frankie... It was definitive though. I guess we'll find out if Cruz/Faber ends in blood as well.
