thats a good point. bader is a dumb dumb for letting go of rampages back though, had he not he wouldnt have been slammed onto his back instead of his head, neck, arm.

I'd put money on Pettis not being able to finish Bendo. He can't submit Bendo, Cerrone fights have already proved that, and Bendo has never been knocked out. If that first kick off the cage barely fazed Bendo, nothing else Pettis can do is going to put him out.

It would take a barboza kick on one side and a pettis cage kick on the other side of bendos head at the same time to put him down but they need to finish him in 3 seconds after that or bendo will rise again powered by jesus

I wouldn't say the kick barely fazed Bendo, it put him on his ass and swayed the fight in Showtimes favor.

The kick happened in the last minute of the fight or something, and Pettis was already winning the round. It was just the icing on the cake.

Really though, I think Bendo will beat Pettis this time around. Benson should've lost against Cerrone in the first fight, but destroyed him in the second outing. Bendo seems to grow at an absolutely ridiculous rate. I'm simply not sure Pettis has grown as much as Bendo has.

You sure you watched the right fight? That kick knocked Benson backward several feet on his ass, and Pettis landed some UNANSWERED punches to his fucking head to follow up with it, all Bendo was doing was hanging on.

Anyway, what do you guys think was Benson's problem with Pettis? Why couldn't he just use his strength and muscular build to wrestlefuck him and hold him down for a win like any other person?

Both fighters were almost finished multiple times in that fight. Hell, I forget what round it was, but both of them traded RNC attempts the entire round. It was pretty hilarious.

I remember that as well, and I remember Pettis doing some weird shit with his hands and still landing on Bendo, he just sort of stood there, took it, looking very uncomfortable to trade strikes back. I also remember Pettis hanging on Bendo's back like a fucking goddamn monkey for longer than I would have expected. It's definitely a fight I plan to re-watch, probably pretty even up until that kick which was easily the most significant strike/damage in the entire fight.

Round 5 was where the fight completely went into Pettis' hands. It was extremely competitive before that. Dunno if Bendo gassed a little or what, but he simply couldn't keep up anymore.

I find it hard to believe he'll have that issue now. His cardio seems to be perfection.

I'd imagine carrying Pettis' weight on him like that for a good portion of a round probably took away that cardio. I seriously cannot wait for #2, they should just give the winner of Diaz vs Miller - Gray Maynard and let Pettis have the shot he was suppose to in the first place.

I think Diaz vs Bendo would be really interesting. I'm not sure how well he could implement his style on Diaz. Bendo strikes from on top which opens himself up and on the feet diaz has looked so good lately.

A lot of people hate on the "stockton slap" saying isn't very effective or powerful, but Cerrone's face said otherwise. I think it would be hard for Nate to get a sub, considering Bendo is built a lot thicker than him and would have to be folded into a pretzel before he'd tap, he's flexible as fuck. Nate's best shot is definitely his boxing, he would be wise to stay off his back but then again.. you never know, Cowboy did have that guillotine very tight in the 1st fight vs Bendo in the opening round, I seriously thought he would have sunk it.

P.S was I one of the only people hoping to maybe someday see Edgar vs Nate Diaz? I think that would be such a fucking insane fight lol.

I still thought pettis looked awesome in that guida fight. His guard is fun as fuck to watch. Should have been a 5 rounder

Bad style match. Pettis' guard simply isn't good enough to win from the bottom against Guida. I don't think Clay has ever lost via submission from the guard, and I don't recall him getting swept anytime this century either.

I can't stand Clay Guida or his fighting "style". Always willing to brawl my ass, he was terrified to stand with Pettis.
