I appreciate his talent, but never was a fan before he was a star. He didn't look that great vs Gusmao and Bonnar and by the time the Vera and Vlad fights came around, I had all but stopped caring about the higher weight classes as the lower weight classes had really piqued my interest.

no one in 205. spider could move up. reem could try and move back down LOL. but no one in the actual weight class. maybe gustafsson down the line.

Gustafsson has a long way to go before he would be able to take on Jones. He's good. But losing to Phil Davis did not help him. He's going to need a few fights against top tier fighters. I think if Jones cleans out LHW he might consider a shift in weight class. But if he would move up to HW I don't think he would be able to make up the size difference. MW makes the most sense but the guy is slim to begin with. I don't know if he would be able to cut much more weight and remain healthy.

I imagine he probably weights 220-230 as is...he could bulk up pretty easily and contend with some of the bigger guys. He would definitely have to add some size to have a shot at some of the big heavyweights though. This is why there needs to be a cruiserweight class...206-235 or something similar. I don't think he could get to 185 without chopping something off.

Him v Hendo will be fun, Machida deserves another shot...past that I have no idea though. Silva for a superfight would work...but wouldn't you rather get Silva and St Pierre together first?

if you make a 206-235lb class there will be 3 people left in HW and you might as well not even have a class at that point. there is no reason to make that change until the number of quality HW's increases a huge amount

They could have it...it would just make for a bigger HW class...maybe not even put the 265 limit there...just 236+...or 250+...hell I dunno. I just think there is WAY too big a gap between 205 and 265 to even make sense. A good "tweener" class would take the guys that cut way too much to get to 205 and the smaller heavy's...then you'd be left with the big monsters at heavy...which is what people want from their heavyweights. Get some of those 300+ lbs freakshows for your talented heavy's to destroy and ... well...we're back to Pride I guess. lol
