Barnett's game plan was fucking retarded. Never once tried to take Cormier down, Barnett gave his wrestling credentials way too much respect. Cormier's striking is getting sick though, not gonna front. Said from day one this guy was a huge prospect.

Anyways I got Barnett too, the Cormier hype train is hard to understand.

Barnett. Cormier knocks out Silva, something a LHW had almost done before, scoring his biggest win and now all of a sudden he's some kind of K-1 champion level striker. The guy has talent no doubt but the hype train behind him is pretty ridiculous.

Cormier has to be a top ten HW now. I'd put him at either 8-10.

First fight was pretty exciting. Next fight should be interesting, Daniel Cormier is a legitimate prospect.

Not really, Cormier's striking was much more technical as opposed to Fedor's go for broke style.

not frontin. Cormier's biggest win before this was Silva. He was a huge prospect who shouldn't have beaten Barnett, but he shows up to every fight a shit load better then his last. Take the shertard mentality of hyping everyone into oblivion out of the equation and you can see why Barnett was the favorite for this fight.

shouldn't have beaten Barnett? he's the better wrestler and the better striker, Josh couldn't even maintain underhooks or keep him pressed against the cage when they clinched and Barnett gets almost all his takedowns out of that position. dude had almost no opportunities for a takedown, failed on the few he did, and got tooled standing

Josh was the favorite based on experience and size, sure, but Cormier had all the tools to win just had to put them together. and he did that better than just about anyone expected

The way I saw it going in was that cormier had the faster striking and better wrestling but less fight experience and it was up to whether or not barnett could use his experience to take a win.
