I would have picked mayweather to win it even back when this whole thing started so if anything he is crying for not having fought him when the interest was at its highest. What was once somewhat a dispute over ppv split now means nothing when he would have made more with a 50/50 split (he thought he should get over 50% back then) than he would now even if he got 60% of the money because it will have so much less interest/buys.

nah he knocked Marquez down and was up on the cards prior to the knockout, and Marquez is top 5 P4P himself. he looked fine just got punished for the same mistakes he makes every fight, mistakes only 2 or 3 men on earth could capitalize on. a great fighter losing to another great fighter, it happens. especially when they agree to fight each other 4 times throughout the beginning middle and end of their primes. greatest rivalry of modern boxing

people are saying that if anthony pettis loses or is injured or whatever, gilbert melendez should be the next to challenge bendo.

i dunno does he really deserve it? i've seen a few of his fights, nothing spectacular, and looking over his record i don't see any wins that really blew me away. i dunno i can understand from the angle of unifying the strikeforce & ufc titles, but other than that to say he's beaten some of the best guys and is the logical choice, just seems a bit of a stretch.

Pettis is the only guy I have seen make Bendo backpedal/hesitant, or just completely nullify his style of out muscling/wrestling/grappling people.

Gil's been a top end LW longer then Edgar/Maynard/etc have been in the UFC. He hasn't beaten the new big names at LW because all those new big names are in the UFC. But just 3 years ago, the UFC LW division was considered dog shit and everybody that matter at LW was outside it. With the exception of Penn.
