Ellenberger is, quite literally, the only guy at the top of the division who hasn't been either beaten by Hendricks or just lost to GSP. They sure as hell aren't going to match Johny up with Condit, just to have Carlos get a surprise win. It'd fuck the whole thing up. This way, no matter who knocks out who, they get a title shot. It's called a contender match. It's not a new concept.

hell Ellenberger only had a split decision loss to Condit back in 09 he shoulda got a shot years ago

besides they could easily give the shot to Macdonald (if he quits the i won't fight a friend thing), Jake's prolly only getting called up if Condit wins + GSP wins + he wins + GSP isn't pressured into fighting Silva

More like stop being dumb. You're complaining a fighter fighting in a contender fight, who are both coming off wins is a bad fight, when the title fight the challenger is coming directly off from a loss. EXPLAIN TO ME HOW YOUR COMPLAINT MAKES ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER.
