not a lot of faith in the mma publications for cain to be able to mount a comeback this time around... just about everyone seems to be expecting jds to win within the first three rounds.

but i have faith! take the belt back cain!

i'm a jds fan but i'm a bigger cain fan.

I thought they got rid of her a long time ago. Dana had issues with Josh Gross too.

I don't know, JDS looked absolutely ripped at the weigh-in's today and he's a pound less then Cain.

I think JDS is a better fighter, but I worry about Cain's gnp being too much if he gets him down.

Am I insane for wanting to see JDS vs Roy Nelson 2? He's the only guy who has even stood a chance sadly lol.

Nelson was a walking punching bag. Cro Cop ironically has done the best against JDS inside the octagon. Pretty sure he won a round before air tapping.

a walking punching bag that took everything jds threw at him without coming close to having the fight stopped at any point (that i can recall anyway... haven't watched that fight in a while).

only other guy who went the distance with jds was shane carwin, and i think that fight came damn close to being stopped in the first round. holy crap i'm hyped for this fight!

That's like saying Fedor/Nogueira 1 was close. JDS/Nelson was a 30-26 beat down. Surviving isn't doing well. It's surviving.

Roy landed a few bombs on JDS, this was also the first and only time I have seen JDS get backed up by someone else's punches. (haven't seen cro cop vs jds but cro cop got it worse with a broken face)

Junior's face was far from perfect post fight, he also was gassed by the end of it, who knows what could have happened if it was a 5 rounder, Big Country was still going forward as well.

Not enough rounds in MMA to rope-a-dope. I am usually blown away by Roy's cardio though, someone his size has no business being in that "shape".

Yeah Roy has surprisingly decent cardio. It honestly makes no bloody sense.

JDS himself said he was the TOFFEST GOI he has ever fought and surprised him.

I think Big Country and Hendo have the best chins at the moment, edge goes to Hendo for never being K.O'd. Shit I guess JDS qualifies as well, he's taken some good shots and always moves forward.

i don't recall anyone saying it was close, just that roy was the one that held his own the best against jds. and really comparatively, compared to jds's other fights, roy's was definitely the 'closest'. (other than his one loss, obviously)

that roy has the kind of cardio he has considering his physique is already insane. but that he actually seemed less tired than his lean, athletic opponent who had been beating him senseless for the past 15 minutes was mind boggling. i have to agree i think if the fight went 4th and 5th rounds, we would have seen roy pushing the fight. probably still would have lost, but yeah.

Walking through Carwin's shot was a pretty decent indicator for this imo.
