Some news that I did like is that Marius Zaromskis the new head kick king has signed with strikeforce.

people like kimbo cuz he is a big black guy that knocks niggas out. alexander is just another big black guy that knocks niggas out for new people to love. i really think its a win win.
mizango and kyo will get 'i <3 houston alexander' tats and then show him to all their black friends and then lots of new blax will get into the sport and hate on rashad and call him and uncle tom
It just seems too short sighted if you have any plans for kimbo to continue making you money. Houston can take medium power punches and kimbo doesn't really have 1 hit ko power like people seem to think, he took forever, and never really did, KO james thompson who doesn't have a good chin at all. There are many other worse stand up only strikers you could match kimbo up with and since kimbo has only 3-4 fights you won't really have to search hard to find someone comparable. When kimbo was with elitexc he was promoted as being a great fighter so when he got matched with poor competition it was hypocritical but the ufc has marketed him as a guy who is new and learning so they don't really have that same burden.
i think they can afford to be short sighted here. kimbo's tuf appearance was a debacle and after his last fight in elitexc it finally became apparent to kimbo only fans what a joke he is. i think by doing this they can really market alexander, who already has some great knockout highlites, and win over new fans that just like watching big black guys throw fists.
and kimbo definitely isnt getting any younger
A guy like houston isn't even the kind of guy who you want to transfer marketability into if that was their goal, which I don't think it is. Houston will lose to those who can take him down, which is a lot of people, and those who can strike and hit his head before he hits theirs. He is exciting but his future in the ufc will always be in question because he is the kind of guy who will lose 2 or more in a row just because of who he is. I think the UFC does want kimbo around for more than just 1 fight and I don't think matching him against someone who does what kimbo does but much better is the right kind of guy. Given all of that I will still be interested in watching the fight
The treatment given to a lot of TUF winners is what kimbo needs. Guys from other orgs were brought in to fight them all the time because they are developing fighters. Cain valasquez who at the time was infinitely better than kimbo was given in his first 3 ufc fights 2 guys who were new to the ufc. This is the TUF finale too, so any HW on that tuf show makes more sense.
Wang is a good idea though, Wang can take a punch.
actually you are right... Seth Peters would be a great opponent for him

I think houston weighed in at like 203 pounds once or twice so it's possible he will be 10 lbs under the catch weight.
Seth peters would KO kimbo with a hopping left jab rather than a hopping right jab.
Machida v Rua II will be postponed from the expected Jan 2 card because Machida needed surgery on his hand.
Everything is getting postponed :[
Only the boring fights.
Holy shit, cain valasquez vs big nog
Minotauro vs. Cain Velasquez at UFC 108 :: TATAME
With how nog was able to lock on close subs vs randy I don't like cain's chances on the ground even if he plays defensively. Nogs boxing also looked fairly good and his chin can probably take cains punches so it will be a very interesting fight.
Agreed. I think Nog takes it by sub. The New Years eve show just got pretty awesome.
Rumored card so far:
- Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin
- Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
- Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva
- Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
- Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley
- Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller
- Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham
- Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
- Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller
- Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz
- Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle
We'll also get our next Heavyweight Title matchup more than likely. Winner of Brock/Shane vs. winner of Cain/Nog.
nog vs cain gonna be awesome. pretty bad matchup for cain though, but what a great test for a young up and comer.
I can see cain having success if he goes for tons of TD's but gets up quickly after. That or wrestle him to the fence and dirty box a lot, he has some good inside punches and he might be better there.
