Suikoden Marathon

As I mentioned earlier in a few different places, I'm going to be starting my Suikoden Marathon today.

This isn't a charity marathon, nor is it a donation marathon. It's sort of a ritual of mine to play through all the Suikoden games near the end of summer, before school starts. I am doing this for fun. I will be going through the game normally, not skipping through text, and I will be recruiting every Star of Destiny and whatever else I feel should be required for a "full" play through. I will be moving fast though. I'll be playing from around 8am~11pm EST every day, start time really depends on when I wake up, so it will vary, I'll always post here when I start the stream for the day.

My tentative schedule is looking to be about 10 days total:
Suikoden 1: 1 day
Suikoden 2: 1 day
Suikoden 3: 3 days
Suikoden 4: 2 days
Suikoden 5: 3 days

Suikoden 3~5 are on PS2 and are a lot longer, so I have no idea how close to those times I'll actually get. Might be faster, might be slower.

Again: I'm doing this for fun, and because it's a ritual of mine. Even if no one was watching, I would still be doing this anyway. So with all the streaming going on, I figured I'd share this with whoever wants to watch it.

Suikoden 5 is only long because of the gay loading times. But still, finishing S1 and S2 in a day is pretty good. Going for all 108 stars?

5 is really good, feel more like Suikoden than 3 and 4 did. Looking forward to an S2 run, my favourite game of the series.

Had a bit of a monitor problem but got that fixed now, the pins in the cable fucked up, using a backup, gonna have to order a new one, or maybe get a new monitor :/

anyway, getting some lunch, should be back around 2:45 est ish

Actually I'll just play some while food is cooking but gonna be pausing a lot until 3ish.. I might have to do some ff11 events tonight so hopefully I can finish before then. If not, I'll just finish tomorrow morning.

Final Save Point 9:47, final boss was dead less than 8 minutes after this. Ending took about 15min I think? idk, under 10 hour ftw. I've only played suiko1 like 4-5 times before, so I didn't have everything in memory, made a few fuck ups and learned a few things too (for example, Mace requires last castle to recruit, fuck the double dragon ride and walk to his stupid house just for him to tell me my castle isn't big enough, SIZE DOESNT MATTER :<)

Also fucked up twice with the Pahn duel, my fault for forgetting that it came right after the first fight with Teo, would probably bump final time to something under 11 hours.

If I didn't have an ff event in like 30min I'd start suiko2 tonight, cause I think I'm gonna be pushing it close to finish it tomorrow.. anyway, still on schedule for now =]

Fuck, I might miss you play S2 tomorrow. Still, was cool to see S1 for however long I watched for. I forgot how much better S2 looked compared lol.

I might skip tomorrow cause I may have to do salvage from 1pm~4pm, and I've been marathoning for 4 days straight now including ff9.

Question to anyone who may know:

I'm letting ustream pick up my regular sound, which basically picks up everything that I hear from my headphone.

I want to be able to use a mic to comment on stuff, but the mic counts as a different source, and ustream only lets me pick one. I was thinking, is there any way to "echo" back what I'm saying, which means that my sound would pick up the echo part? Or some other kind of solution.

I'm tired of alt tabbing to answer the chat, and everytime I alt tab it freezes the game while it's out of focus :/

Some sound card/drivers should support any mic input you use coming out of your speakers. If you do that 'stereo mix' should pick it up along with the game audio. I have no idea where the option for it is in XP though, but by default it's muted if your computer supports it.

Might not be feasible, but if your computer doesn't support it there's programs that can do the same, but there's a fair bit of delay. I use it for when I'm streaming my PSP (PSP audio is through mic input, but when I use it I can't hear the sound myself, so I use a program to play it out of my speakers aswell). I use a program called REAPER for it. Only problem I foresee is your mic might get some horrible echo if it picks it up coming out of your speakers.
