Obviously if the government fell apart the whities would take back the world and finish off all black people. This movie shows their effort to finish them off completely.

I'm interested in Mila Kunis' character. Is she going to turn into a badass army chick and blow stuff up? That'd be pretty win, not sure how big a role she'll have though.

also how fucked up is that the denzel washington is the ONLY black guy in the future

also, From Hell is actually one of my favorite movies, so I'm pretty excited to see what the Hughes bros. do with this.
One of my favorite movies as well. Denzel is the future.

I really like the look of the fight scenes in this trailer. They look more 'realistic' than the usual martial art action movie (AKA Ninja Assassin, which looks awesome in its own CGI way). The moves he was using reminded me a lot of Kali and they seemed (from the few seconds that was available) to be fairly well executed. It reminded me a lot of the scene in 'The Watchmen' where Rorschtat gets taken by the police, which although extremely short was a nice bit of martial arts.

I'm looking more forward to this movie than the woefully emo looking Mortensen movie 'The Road'.

read the book first, its by the guy who wrote No Country For Old Men. Calling it an emo Mortensen movie is like calling Fight Club a mindless action Brad Pitt movie.

Agreed, and having Mila Kunis in it means I get to masturbate during it and no one will be offended.

Haha, had 'Fight Club' been a mindless action movie, I might have liked it. I'm not into the male bonding/men finding themselves in a modern world type of movie. My husband was horrified when I wanted to turn 'Fight Club' off part way through because it's one of his favourite movies.

I am, however, a connoisseur of mindless action movies!

'The Road' looks really depressing and likely to have a depressing unhappy, possibly gory, ending. Meanwhile 'The Book of Eli' looks like some Denzel Washington butt-kicking good fun in a depressing post-Armageddon world with possibly a happy ending.

    Eastern Promises, History of Violence.

I'll take Mortensen in a movie like this over Denzel any day. I wonder if Denzel is going to be able to do one of his monologues that he spews in every film since he's alone in this one.

Do want. Landscapes look very Fallout-esque, and I very much approve of that.

(Yes, I realize Fallout isn't the only post-apocalyptic environment like that, nor is it the first, it is just the one I am most familiar with)
