    New (to me) Wii games

So, I'm in the mood to get some new games, but I don't see anything that would really interest me. Anyone have recommendations?

    So far, I have:

Metroid Prime 3 (was good, but a bit easy/short)
Super Mario Galaxy (was frustrating, but felt compelled to do everything)
    Okami (loved it)
    Twilight Princess (was ok)

and multiplayer games like mario party, brawl, etc.

So aside from Wiiware stuff, what should I get next?

Or am I gonna have to wait until the next batch of games (new mario ones, next zelda one, next metroid one, etc from E3)?

You have Twilight Princess, so does that mean you've modded the Wii yet?

You don't need Twilight Princess to mod a Wii anymore.

Well, if he can get his shit for free, then just download everything on a top 10 list.

    Punch Out
    Mario Kart/Party/Brawl/Strikers
    Paper Mario

You can try The Conduit and Mad World, but I couldn't get into either of those.

MadWorld is good but short, which is also good because its extremely repetitive.

I've always endorsed No More Heroes. Warioland: Shake It! is also a pretty good title.

Hate to derail topic slightly, but what's the 'current' softmod means for the Wii anyhow?

Did mine ages ago for Wii menu 3.0 and just used that loader program via homebrew channel for newer games that force an update otherwise. Wouldn't mind knowing if there's a (brick-free) means of doing it for the latest firmware, just so I can free up some damn space on my Wii using SD-cards for channels.

As far as games go, everything that I enjoyed has been mentioned already, which is kind of sad since I haven't bought a game for my Wii in 8 months. (where-as my PS3 has been getting some daily action)

Softmodding a Wii at this point is as simple as putting some files on an SD card, plugging it in, and following a series of steps. There's plenty of tutorials around on ye olde internets. Make sure to brick-block your Wii first if you're worried about screwing up.

Not on the list, but still very worth it: New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Its a GCN port, but barely anyone played it since the original used the bongos as a controller. The Wii version uses somewhat standard controls. (ironically the NPC! version has LESS innovative controls than the original) But its an incredibly fun platformer from the same studio that went on to make Super Mario Galaxy.

Edit: And another list from /v/, with a couple different games and a little bit of text on each:

Know any good places to get solid info on the matter, as well as brick-blocking? (which last I checked, has a chance of bricking your Wii in the process as well ;/ )

Really tempted to update to the latest Wii Menu now, but I don't know how I should go about doing it. Should I just re-softmod it once the firmware is updated? I can't find any info regarding whether or not I can still install IOS files on menu 4.0/4.1, which I need for my backups.

On a side note, we able to run homebrew channels directly from the SD-card yet (I mean actual channels, not DOL apps loadable withing HBC)? I'd kill for that feature since you run the chance of bricking your Wii installing one via WAD manager to the system memory.

    Fire Emblem
    Battalion Wars

Those 2 games I thought were some of the best for the system

If you like a good story, try checking out Broken Sword Directors Cut (old fashioned point n click adventure game)

Also, tales of monkey island is coming out this week which should be cool ;-x
