Force is Mass*Acceleration. Since it is going at a constant speed, there is not force. Since it is fired in a direction opposite the motion, it would just be a bullet that was going 4000km/h relative to the train and 2000km/h relative to a stationary position.

Were the direction of the train in the same direction of the bullet being fired, the bullet would actually travel at 4000km/h.

Someone correct me if I am mistaken. It's been several months since I've thought about any kind of physics.

Well... that's the whole concept of relativity: the question is meaningless without specifying a frame of reference. The person riding on the train would see the bullet traveling away at 2000 km/hr, and falling at 9.8 m/s^2. A person on the ground would just see the bullet fall straight down at 9.8 m/s^2, since a positive 2000 and a negative 2000 would cancel each other out. I person standing on the sun would see something completely different. etc etc etc

No the person on the train would fall the fuck off because he's standing on a goddamn train in open air that's going 2000 km/hr.

Physicists have no fucking common sense.

(btw from the perspective of an object going slightly below the speed of light looking at an object going slightly below the speed of light in the opposite direction, is it going above the speed of light, or did I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND?)
