    Can not detect correct network

So i just hooked up my desktop at my new home and all is well for my laptop and 360, they can connect to router fine

I plugged in my Wireless USB adapter into my desktop and ran the linksys CD that came with it

For some really odd reason, the desktop can only detect two networks around me and not even my own router

    Wireless SSID is broadcasting

Wireless USB adapter is a linksys, WUSB54GSC

Did this work before you moved? Are the drivers correctly installed (look under the hardware device menu, is it functioning correctly or have a yellow exclamation point next to it?)?

Are you using the linksys utility to connect to the network? Try disabling it and using Windows to connect if possible.

Try downloading the drivers instead of using what was on the CD, which is probably outdated.

Ceph prolly give you much better answers, but have you tried using the windows wireless to connect instead of the linksys software?
(Mainly just to see if network is detected there)

If you don't really installed linksys CD (which has some linksys wifi program), which mean you are good. If you are using XP, can check wireless icon, near the clock. See if you can find your network. If other wireless pc in your house has no prob to connect to internet, which mean something not right about your adapter then.

I've seen this several times on this board actually.

I can tell you what fixed it for me but it doesn't always seem to work for everyone.

I went right click your connection from network connections and go to properties and disable QoS Packet Scheduler.

Seems to work about 50% of the time.

Theres been a few threads randomly on this so you can try searching, I think there was 1 other resolution but I can't remember what it was.

The scheduler is something that's usually enabled on the router side, so might as well check that. Make sure uPnP is off too.
