Ahahaha I love you :D
Ahahaha I love you :D
I'm almost positive it's a troll, but I like how people are freaking out about the TH+ and not about DMG+8 (making it a DMG35 delay 186 dagger)
I've been trying to get Xarc done but I blew through 5 chances yesterday just trying to beat the damn thing. I can't figure out a workable strategy. Either that or I can't find a kiter that can both keep hate and keep themselves alive.
I actually just went and removed that a few minutes before you posted. It's definitely someone that thought it would be entertaining. Send a bunch of people to die in the hardest fight because they think there's an insane reward from it. It's like when someone edited Defending Ring in as a drop from those Amphipteres on patch day. Too bad those turned out to be really easy to kill.
I disagree... Allowing the players to choose their own Augments is basically giving the players the opportunity to all be terribly awesome and whatnot. At least this way, even the leetest of the leet can qq about some noob getting amazing stats on their gear, when the leet get -6 STR or whatever. When I saw the Weskit with INT+6, I didn't think "Fuck, I want that", I thought "Welp, my Robe still beats that so lol". I think that whilst there's a few pieces of gear that are augmentable are mderately better with random stats, for the whole, the Augment system doesn't beat much of anything that is Ex or Rare or Ex/Rare in the game. If you could customize your own augments on pieces, everyone would be going after the same thing, and once they've gotten what they want, will never do it again. Whilst the same can be said of this system, it takes a lot more luck and perserverece on the players part to play with that kind of stuff. If you choose to augment your Hagun, you run the risk of getting negative stats on it.
Either way, if you aren't prepared to lose the gil in an item, then you shouldn't be playing a lottery with it. You don't see Ghanraam running a service to give you your 12 Marid Leathers back when Aurum Feet came out, do you. Didn't get that Nyzul Body you wanted on the last run, here, take your tag back and try again in a few minutes! Fact is the system is what it is, and if you don't like it, you don't have to do it. Simple as. Every single event could be better if they tweaked it a little here or there... They could make less Mobs in Einherjar, make it so you only need 1000 Alexandrites for a Mythic Weapon or none at all, make Dynamis Lord drop a Shadow item 100% of the time, Allow you to use Nyzul Tokens for Salvage Permits... Point is you have to play within the realms of the rules, and if you gamble your shit and are worse off for it, shame.
I think this system was introduced as a way of leveling out the field, getting Crafters back into the market and pieces that we would normally take for granted be wanted once more.
Also I think that the way this is going, the End-game content that could be in the Atomos place be a choosable Augment system, by racking up points and trading them for Augments. That would be pretty nifty.
First of all that is completely irrelevant, and the point I made was that SE doesn't give a fuck about anything but players continuing to play the game, and that is better done when someone doesn't quit because they got negative stats on an extremely expensive item (again doesn't matter if it is their choice or not).
As for the 'choose your augment' no that is an excellent idea, and no it isn't anyone choose.... it is like.. you kill god damn PW and get a key item token which you trade to get a decent augment instead of the garbage gear PW drops. Hydra Jorm ect.. would be killed if there was a token you could get off of them to choose an augment on gear. The idea is excellent sorry to say. I can deal with random augments from FoV NMs but they should not be NEAR as random and certain stats should not be possible. Also again, there should be an NPC to deaugment fully any piece of gear for a certain price, and this would take gil out of the game which is win-win.
Yeah I don't believe it for a minute, but I'd still like to see what augments it can yield. We got really close-- 1 RDM 1 PLD 4 SMN, got 1 taur dead and the other down a little, but by the time the first was dead our PLD had dropped and mages were killed while the first had a sliver of HP.
What I hate are people who come on here in the other watchful pixie threads and are like "beat xarc easy lol" but give absolutely no details on what augments it yielded.
I augmented my Battle gloves for shits and giggles and got Mp2 on them.
did dusk legs hopin for something nice for rng, got INT +1, at least they arent unuseable lol
i want some bad ass dusk augment i'd be too scared to get crap
Just checked a character named Ritty and he was practically coated in augmented items, I made a compilation. The Sapphire Earring comes from an ACP key, but the rest seem to be FOV augments. Some nice ones, some not-so-nice ones, and a really crappy Flame Ring. Good to see someone else brave enough to toss in the Dusk Gloves+1.
