Correct me if I am wrong, but I have not seen one augment yet where the positive stats on an item have been layered with more positive stats... That is to say you can get a Snow Ring with added MND, MAB and STR and whatnot, but you cannot get it with added INT. You can however get negative Stats on an item which have that stat on it, Snow RIng with INT-1 etc... Why would you get Haste+ on a Haste+ belt already <.<

While it's not a Snow Ring, Warwolf Belt, etc the Justaucorps I posted did layer stats giving +2chr while the item itself has +2chr.

Not entirely true, you can get more of a stat that is already on the item. Case in point:

However, it does seem that most items with a large amount of a stat won't get any more. I don't expect to see INT on a snow ring.

my current conjecture is that it will not create an augment for an item that gives it more of a given base stat (such as int, str, etc) than exists on some other item. that is to say i don't think it would allow you to make a ring with +6 str as there are no +6 str rings out there, but it would allow a ring to reach say +5 str, +5 dex. iirc, there's some vague rule about a lvl synced armor can not give more to a stat than something that exists in that slot at that level, but i have no idea if it's accurate, but it does seem to be in the same vein. all hypothesis anyway though. and ouch at the sonic belt +1. really ouch...

Right, you will never see for example a Flame Ring with additional STR. For 1 thing they didn't allow the HQs of these to be put in the game for the soul purpose that they didn't want there to be more than +5 on rings. But ya, If it was possible we would have seen it by now, and we haven't (1-50 gear pre 51-75 gear patch).

What you're saying is wrong, as proven a post above him you can get a stat that's already on there (referring to the +AGI on the snow ring), so you could MAYBE get a flame ring with +STR, but in Spekkio's theory, you couldn't get a flame ring with +6 of any primary stat since no other ring has +6 of a primary stat. I don't think anyone has seen more that +4 or +5 on a ring so far, so this theory could be true, but there's no way to necessarily prove it right or wrong.

To extend this theory, you wouldn't be able to get +50 DEX on a Hauby or something because there's no body with 50 DEX on it (extreme example but that's what he was getting at)

Um.... how is what I was saying wrong lol? I was agreeing with what he said, and no you can't get a Flame Ring with another STR because that makes it +6, it just isn't possible sorry. I know you can get additional boost to a stat already on it if it doesn't exceed the highest possible amount on that given item, we have already seen pics of that.... What you can't get is Flame Ring +5STR and an augment of +1STR~, nope.

Maybe I read him wrong. Using flame ring as an example, I thought he was suggesting you can't get a straight up +6 AGI, since there's no +6 AGI Ring (but you could get +5 or less), while you could in theory get more STR.

Still, there's not really a way to say conclusively that you can or can't until someone actually does it, or the game ends and no one has ever made a gem ring with +1 to its +5 stat. It could still be very rare!

Honestly, I'm still pretty happy with augments. Although i've lost ~1.4m (after selling 4 gems of the west), which tbh really is nothing to me, as well as the time it takes to farm tabs every day, which means quite a bit more to me, it's really good motivation for meriting. With ~17 merits from soloing nq despots (so far), after far too much slacking off, i've finally capped my enfeeb (6->8), thunder potency (3->5), and one merit in ice potency (2->3). And of course 50+ total seals really doesn't hurt either. Even without any good augment to show for it, i still think i'm ahead, though I do hope i (eventually) get mab...

Not worth posting pics but I noticed something odd about Garden Bangles. 2/3 of the bangles I've gotten Magic Defense Bonus and the other I got Magic Critical Hit. I'm just hoping to God you can get MAB on it for Cor. :-/ Gives me something to do in the hour I play a day now I guess.

Hagun has roughly an 18% WS damage advantage though it depends on your current TP and STR etc. The frequency could make up for it if you get a really nice Rindomaru like that one though.
