I was raging from FFXI last night when I tried to go to sleep, and it ended up keeping me awake for hours. I was trying to decide if I should quit for good or not, so I stayed up selling gear on all my mules. I finally fell asleep at 3 and got up for work at 7.

I came in all grumpy, bitching about everything. I ordered a new baseball glove from Amazon, with some oil to break it in. The oil cost $1.95, but they charged me $9.95 to ship it without me noticing. I was ready to blow up the building.

Then I got an email from my next door office neighbor. Her dad died. Now I feel even worse for being such a pussy all morning.

Some people are just natural assholes Howard. There was one guy here at AAA that is a mapmarker. The guy just walks in with his head down, completely ignoring everyone around him. So one day I'm in the cafeteria getting my morning hot cocoa. Yes hot cocoa mother fucker, do you have a problem with that? So I'm heading back through the two sets of double doors which have the security locks on them. So I have to wave my badge in front of it to get it. The space in between the two doors is probably five feet. So I cruise through and see him coming. I expect him to hold the door for me and I hold it for him and we basically switch and both go through. Nope. Mother fucker just cruises right on through. I say thanks asshole and all he does is mumble.

A week later he bumped into me out on the call center floor and knocked my lunch out of my hands onto the floor. Once again because he's cruising around staring straight at the ground. So this time I walk right in front of him until he is forced to stop and acknowledge me. At this point I'm ready to fucking beat him into a human paste. He looks up and then I see his eyes. His wild googly eyes that seem to operate independently of each other. I notice the glazed over look in said eyes and the complete lack of intelligence behind them. So now I hold the door for my new mentally retarded friend who I almost beat the hell out of.

So you never know Howard. He could just be retarded.

I used to work with this one dude, my very first proper paying job, it was overnights at a grocery store stocking shelves, and there was this guy Richard who was always a real shithead to me, nothing major at any one time, small enough that I can't even remember a specific incident now (11 years later)

I was 17 I think, these guys were all lifers, 35+ and grown men working overnights in a grocery store putting stuff on shelves, not exactly sensitive dudes


anyway I see this one guy Richard sitting on one of the stock carts with his head in his hands, or some such position that it seemed he had a really bad headache. I so happened to have some tylenol in my bag and thought I'd make a peace offering of sorts and offered to get him some and he replied "Tylenol won't get rid of this kind of headache"

turns out while he's working 40+ hours a week, plus overtime to support his wife and kid, even helping her out by letting some old friend of hers stay for a couple weeks until he gets on his feet or I don't recall exactly, turns out she's fucking this dude


I hated my job, I knew t sucked, I knew it wasn't ideal, our boss was say the worst fucking shit.. while smiling and looking right at you (goddamn faggot psychopatch), I knew no one could really be liking this job -- so to be doing all this for your family, and she turns around pulls this fucking shit? you bet I'd be crusty at work; anyway he apologized for his recent asshole behaviour and my mind was slightly blown at suddenly seeing the other side of things

gave me a good perspective on life and I do try to consider these things. the dude from the OP, I neer took it personal, was just more uncomfortable being aware of his convo, I kinda hold to the belief that you don't air your laundry like that on the bus, in a stationary public place etc, but whatev right?
