Or they picked Elyos because they grew out of the emo "dark" raging-hormones buff-space-marine with Disturbed soundtrack and black t-shirt phase of life.

With my helmet on my templar actually looks like Shredder from TMNT.
Yeah of course, I'm guilty for that but a lot of people in my legion picked Asmo because they looked cooler, and are the good guys (depending on your point of view) considering how the Elyos are trying to purge Asmodae because Asmos are stronger and the Elyos are always ganking the Asmo as well as being stuck up bitches who think they are better. Although I bet the Elyos cutscenes are the same trying to portray Asmo as bad guys etc.
Spoiler: show
Which is what I came to love about being an Asmo, along with the glowing eyes and the more appropriate sized legion cape.
Hell, the lore is the main thing that got me so into Aion. Reading about how the world came to be in the present day of the game and getting to be a part of that really got me that much more into everything about it.
I didn't pick Asmo because I thought they looked cooler, I just picked them because I expected them to be the lesser of the two races which obviously didn't work out as I planned. I rarely notice I have back hair and really it doesn't bother me at all. As for the feet, as soon as you get any type of shoe as a female, it overwrites and the only time for the rest of the game that you're gonna see those talons is if you take off your shoes.
By the way, did you know spriggs are elyos that got trapped in Asmodae after coming through a rift?![]()
There were those Elyos in Altgard that disguised themselves as Spriggs but I don't think Spriggs actually ARE elyos, in the same way that Kentari actually are (cursed) Asmodians.
Is the given excuse for wanting to invade Asmodae for Elyos the same as the Asmodian reason for wanting to invade Elysea? We're told that the existence of the Abyss is causing aether to escape Atreia, and that the only way to stop it is to invade Elysea and destroy their half of the tower.
Hey Falisa, since you're pretty big on the lore, can you tell me something?
I've always been curious who the Lepharists are and what's their whole deal, if you know anything about them? They seem to be so powerful and dabble in magic like Daevas do, but they aren't Daevas, do you know anything about them?
I haven't really been reading up on lepharist when doing quests, but according to some people on vent, they are humans that are trying to become daevas through their own means rather than being blessed by Aion or whatever like we have. I don't know what elyos have but in one of the Morheim campaigns, the cutscene shows one of the lepharist captured a daeva and killed him using some extraction device to get a stigma stone out of him.
The Lepharists worship the Balaur. Specifically they worship Lephar, who is (I think) one of the Balaur Lords, who were Drakan that ascended (other Lords being Fregion and Ereshkigal).
They do nasty things to Daevas like extracting Stigmas from their souls, but they also conduct experiments to try to forcefully ascend normal humans.
The Asmo justification, just much like their life in Asmodae is pure survival. Basically the Elyos are set out to destroy Asmo and their society, so Asmo has to fight to survive, I'm only lv26 atm so I haven't really gotten too far into the story and stuff but in the Abyss quest, we were told that after the Elyos attacked, the general Asmodian public were "raging" that none of the higher ups would retaliate against them, so the best way to prevent civil unrest was to fight against the Elyos.
Or at least that's what I can remember, I'm probably wrong on a few points since my PC kept lagging during that CS :/
Edit: http://aion.ign.com/wiki/Aion_Lore for anyone interested.
For those interested, you can find the videos of each cutscene on Youtube. I found the books a while ago in the Pandy library and watched them. I probably should hop on my Elyos and go watch those just to see the differences.
Anywho, screenshots!
Spoiler: show
Elyos are told about the aether escaping but if they learn about the tower thing it doesn't happen before lvl 30 because that's as far as I've gotten.
The reason they want to wipe out Asmodians is because of what is revealed in the Abyss entry cutscene. Don't read on if you don't want to know
The point they focus on in the CS is the first meeting between the Elyos and the Asmodians in which the Storm Legion was sent through one of the first rifts to find out what it was, and there they met Zikel, Lord of Destruction. We're told that though they appeared strange the people who called themselves Asmodians were embraced as brothers and fellow Daevas but Zikel ordered them to be slaughtered and Elyos now think the best revenge is to wipe out their entire violent race for killing one of their most beloved heroes, Deltras.
lol
Spoiler: show
I'd like to point out that Asmodians are superior for one reason and one HUGE reason only.
