Protip: If people can't spell correctly, they probably can't pronounce correctly. So, asking "the FFXI public" how to pronounce anything in-game is an exercise in futility.

Oh nice, that pretty much puts me out of the job I offered above. Though if anyone's curious about the pronunciation of things that aren't in auto-translate, like some gear names, just post and I'll do those for you. On that note, for Lilswitche, it's "Gen-bu".
There are a few things that you should note if you're going to use that auto-translate guide to look some pronunciations up though, the English "translation" of the Japanese doesn't always represent the way it would actually be pronounced.
When the letter "i" is written, that should always be pronounced as "ee". For example, the romanization of the Japanese spelling of Blizzard comes out as "burizado". That's not pronounced the way it looks, it'd be pronounced "bureezad".
When you see a vowel twice in a row, that doesn't change the pronounciation the way it would in English. "ee" and "oo" aren't pronounced the way they look, they're just longer "eh" and "oh" sounds. For example, a hypothetical japanese word "roon" isn't pronounced "rune", it'd be pronounced "rowne". Combined with the above rule about "i", Erase => "ireesu", but is actually pronounced like "eerehhs".

how about...Teleport-Vahzl? Vah-zull ? Vaaz-ull ? I'm having flashbacks to when my friends and I would use Microsoft Sam on Ventrilo to see how the Software Voice pronounced the words, lol.
Bastok is pronounced "Bas-toe", because in the intro video the voice over actually says the word <.<
For a short time, I was on vent with a guy who, for reasons beyond me, pronounced Gjallarhorn "gu-jallarhorn". I tried like holy hell to get him to try to say "Bostaunieux Oubliette".
Lol.
Guhjallarhorn.
Aern - reraising fuckers

I find that hearing people say "bew-dux" for Beadeaux makes me cringe a little.
Rich: my favorite dank word was "tang tang". And the fact that he could never say my name. And just called me "Urururururururu"
As an idea, why don't we have a pronounce-off, have everyone record their take, host it somewhere as an audio-file, and set up a poll with the top ones and award a title for the winner?
Kirin's Osode: oh-so-day (not oh-soad)
Mijin Gakure: ga-ku-ray (not gak-urrrrrrrrr)
Suzaku's Sune-ate: sue-knee-a-tay (not soon-ate)
There's others, but the mispronunciations of these really annoy me.
