Any one else watching this season of Hell's Kitchen?
It's losing its charm as a series. It's like the producers are going out of their way to contrive situations where people don't get along. The sulky toughguy looks promisingly entertaining but it looks like he's less interested in being a chef and more interested in being an asshole in front of the camera. So he's a likely goner, leaving the homogenous mush of stereotypes left. Plus I'm not that thrilled about the return of Robert.
He is indeed gone and all shows that are reality have stereotype cast.
I think Rob deserves to be back after the way he left, although i am disappointed in his return so far, it's like he's retained nothing he's learned also looks about 100 pounds heavier.
I liked robert, and I have to agree the stereotype of calling people fat cows and telling them to piss off is getting oldstill watching it though, have the past 3 seasons.
I'm further confused by the return of Heather, actually. Did she get sick of running her own kitchen? Or was she bad at it and get sacked, leaving her with another shot of being on TV?
It had a fair bit of charm the first two seasons, like any reality show does at the beginning. The first ep of this season spent so little time on the signature dishes that by the end of the second ep I still couldn't tell one bad chef from the next. Previous seasons had slower starts, let the contestants have more individual time in front of the camera and wasn't kicking chefs off the show in the first 30 minutes. The new tempo of the show is heavy on the confrontations (yeah right, JP that tantrum was genuine, uh-huh) and the cameras are just far too trained on crap like that. I used to be able to laugh at the show's antics. Now I'm just groaning.
Wait, multiple people returned to the show? I only recognized Robert... since he's fat. Did they mention why/how they're back? I missed the first episode.
Oh wow this is back again...crap I am so behind on my TV watching it isn't even funny...
Heather's back as the counterpart to Scott, the big angry bald sous chef, not as a contestant since she was the season 2 winner. Robert's back...god knows why, as a full-on contestant. He sucks. Looks like he's on for at least another episode, too.
And ffs will chefs learn to keep their fucking body in one piece for one goddamn season? This is the third season in a row where folks have had to leave for medical reasons.
I really have no idea why I watch this show, it has become so predictable. EVERY contest ends up with both teams relying on the last person to split the tie-breaker, every time. Oh? You mean both teams managed to cut and clean exactly 41 shrimp each and it is down to the last person the last person to break the tie breaker? They just try to make every little thing so dramatic.
And wtf? Robert had a heart attack but gets to come back, but that chinese chick (Che? I think) from last season who actually didn't get to prove herself much because she went out so early, but was doing a great job, who hurt her ankle, doesn't? The only thing that surprised me last season was that Danny won, as I was expecting Ramsey to choose the chick seeing as he had such a hardon for her. I actually cheered when Danny won, lol.
Eh... I'll see how the season goes, but may just stop watching altogether, I think I actually prefer Kitchen's Worst Nightmares.
The Asian Girl's name was Gi, and I think she should of been the returning contestant too, she's tough! The secondary show is called Kitchen Nightmares which I also like too, but I like Hell's Kitchen too.
i like the british ver. "The F Word"
There was a british version of hell's kitchen if I recall but it was a much different matter, with celebrities and stuff. But yeah the F Word is by far more entertaining since he raises/nurtures/slaughters his own livestock for the finale.
the catching his own bird in an island was pretty squeamish for me, and i can tell ramsay was disgusted by it too since he didnt snap the bird's neck himself, and was kissing the dead birds too.. like saying... "sorry bird the tv show made me do it.. sorry bird..." hahahaha
cute birds... =/
I bet this guy was a plant.
the fat guy return from the prev. season?
Think he means the marine dude, he probably was a plant to get more ratings, who knows. But if he was a plant, they pulled it off pretty well, looked pretty believable really.
The marine dude brought me some lulz.
Sure this show isn't phenomenal or anything, but it's entertaining to turn your brain off for 40 minutes and watch people who suck at their jobs worse than you do.
