Action Gauge and TP make sense, confused about how the Power Gauge fills up/is used...
We're translating the Famitsu interview atm and also posted a new news on our site.
Haha no kidding. And finally on a new page... I blame you for that!
As for attacks: We're gonna have to select regular attacks manually - This would explain why a lot of people were just standing around between weapon skills. Seems like combat is gonna involve spamming as much stuff between your Regular attack cooldowns. Swing -> RLB -> Circle Blade -> Swing > repeat/etc. Rotation heavy, well least when it comes to melee.
Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
OMG from FFXIV interview.
===============================================
How will the story be told? Powerful story is an essential part of the FF-series, and as far as the producers have said it will be important in XIV as well.
Yes the story is defiantly very important for FF14. We will have high quality cutscenes with voiceovers and fx, please look forward to it.
There will also be voiceovers on mostly every character/npc in the game.

And i'm gonna bet that we wont get spanish/frane/german voice acting ;p English/jp voices and Text = english/jp/german/france.
I updated the main post. I'm really surprised at how much info they've given us in 2 days time. I honestly thought it was only going to be a 1 day info thing but here we are getting more than expected >.>
The point that really surprised me is that the graphics aren't fully done yet and it already looks amazing.
JP voice onry prease.
Ive a feeling any other langauge would be hella rushed and just be crap.
Im guessing if weve figured out .dat edition in xo, we can figure out the new system and swap voice too.
Do other MMO's use auto-attack? I had a hard time playing ranger in ffxi because I had to push a macro everytime I wanted to shoot. I really hope they change their mind and allow it.
Also, was there any talk about integrating voice chat into the game? Since we wont be able to type while we fight, it's going to be hard to communicate with others.
While everyone has access to the developers, they should ask them how to kill Absolute Virtue.
JUST SAYING.
In other news, looks like I was right that the action bars might limit you to only 10 useable actions while in combat. I'd hope that when you change jobs, your bar gets updated to a preset that you have saved with macros/etc, so you don't have to redo it every time.
Either way, I'm not really thrilled about only having access to 10 things at once. For melee its probably okay, but for mages, that seems really crappy. Yes, for example in WOW you auto-attack, but have to use all your special abilities manually. On Hunter (their Ranger), you can auto-shoot. No other job/class has auto-shoot, though.
EDIT: efb
While I can't definitely say being able to deny unsavory people important servives is a good or bad thing (since the same could be done to normal people -_-), assholes have had friends long before this game came out, so I doubt it would acomplish anything. At any rate, you just exposed the flaw in a repair system that requires another living person, so thanks I guess.
I don't see the point in making one money sink worse to justify eliminating another. It comes out to the same amount of suck. At least parsing out the suck in bite-sized bits makes it easier to ignore.
wait you wont be able to chat while fighting ? D:
Famitsu put up an interview on their website. I made a write-up and added it to the JP media thread.
Gamescom - Famitsu Interviews Hiromichi Tanaka
Magazines didn't have anything new this week, but next week should have some cool stuff from the show.
