I am not really literate, but I can read the katakana.

1st line: Puk [Kanji] <-- Title of guidleve
2nd line: Talks about the Dodo and Puk. <-- Explanation of the guildleve
3rd line: Skill: O
4th line: [Kanji] Limsa Lominsa
5th line: [Kanji] Camp Biateddorokku <- could be "Hiateddorokku" or "Piateddorokku", text too small to tell. The "B" is sometimes translated into "V" in English. So, "Viateddorokku" is another option.
6th line: [Kanji] 30
7th line: 1
8th line: BP Cost: 10
9th line: [Kanji] 2000 Gil <- reward for completing guildleve
10th line: [Kanji] Hi-Potion <- literally "haipooshon", another reward?

It'll be interesting with the weapons and armor wearing down over time, it makes me think about the equivalent of Stage5 relic weapons(if there will be any) and how that will play out.
I'm excited about the ability to have every class combination possible with no handicaps -or maybe there will be handicaps if a Merit Point system is announced and you can only customize a certain amount of those merits.

Keep in mind the merit system wasn't the original intent of FFXI. It turned out to be their alternative to increasing the lv cap. So there was no original handicap to lv'ing all jobs since merit's didn't exist until sometime during CoP? (may be wrong on when merit's were added). And I think of durability as just being a sort-of in-game cash sink, unless the dev's have mentioned them wanting it to work in a diff way such as your stats being lowered w/how close to breaking the stuff can be. But knowing SE... if your item breaks it prolly really breaks (lol) and you either lose it or you need to go through some ordeal to craft it back. Would be the consequence of not repairing your still regularly.

Just found some pictures posted in a link on alla from a swedish site by Maldavian. Link to topic on alla and source are included after. They seem to be worked on a development company that went out of business, tho one appears to be similar to the landscape of FFXIV.

Aye, thats what I was thinking. Again, since its not specified that these were done for FFXIV we can't jump to conclusions that these are real zone, or zones they even decided to include. Just wanted to post those to get the info "out there" and on this thread.

Yea, that's probably why the interviewer brought it up. He was like "Y'know... this is just an opinion floating out there... but I've heard about players wanted language-specific servers." In a kind of round-a-bout way like when you have to ask a difficult question you know is important.

I hope they really address this, but a lot of people out there on both ends get pretty upset and hurt over gaps in communication that lead to people just avoiding each other. e.g. JP only
