I was really glad to hear that there will be international servers again.
I made many friends from all over the world through online games.
Personally i don't like the concept of regional/national servers at all.
I don't like my server to die outside 4hours of prime time when everyone logs on.
The biggest flaw when it come s to FFXI servers was that the japanese players had such a huge headstart, giving them advantage in many areas of the game and also boosting elitist behaviour among them. Another flaw was that SE apperantly didn't tell their japanese customers from the beginning that the game will go international. Result was a culture shock when hordes of ill-mannered noobs stormed "their" servers.

There will always be cultural and language boundaries and some segregation. But my experience with PSO told me that understanding between the communitys can be so much better compared to FFXI. Many of the problems we face in FFXI are not really a NA<->JP thing. It's more like a FFXI thing.

It is the same reason why ToAU, other nations, and WotG missions/quests are all complete(including the optional quests for other nations in WotG.) All of these missions were completed on their release(with an exception of Zilart and main missions,) before any reveal of rewards or new areas.

You're all trying to talk politics and missing the best part of international servers: primetime. I don't know about you, but my schedule is fucking hectic and inconsistent. Some days I'll log on midday, others I'll be on at ass-o-clock in the morning. Playing on localized servers is usually a ghost town during offpeak hours, and it sucks. On international servers it will almost always be someones 'primetime' for you to get things done should you need company.

It was by far my favorite community aspect of FFXI.

And yet I've already listed examples where that wasn't the case. Even with ZM, you didn't need to finish ZMs(no extra reward for it) until the end of CoP came out, yet I had it completed before CoP even came out.

I was able to read them while speeding through text. It wasn't that difficult. And then I also got to do the fight, that was fun.

if your armor doesnt determine your class then 99% the class will determine what armor you wear (imagine theif with complete Heavy armor ?)

I think the 10 skills you choose will give you options of what class to pick (also depending on your weapon), thus determining what armor you can equip/gear swap. I think it's been confirmed you can't swap your weapon in battle, but I think other gear would be swappable. It just seems like the logical way the game would work.

Loading healing healing magic gives you access to your cures, erases and so on.

Loading enhancing magic gives you access to your buffs.

If that's true, that'd just be awesome and very convenient lol. The interview did say ability, so it's possible. I think being limited to only TEN moves would be kind of harsh, but there's still a lot we don't know yet.

Idk though, I'm just saying I've never seen anything to imply it's a nickname. I mean, other devs commonly known by their character names were referred to by their real names outside the game, i.e. Richard Garriott.
