Someone go confirm if its implemented on console!
Someone go confirm if its implemented on console!
Trying to right now except it's taking forever.
There is definitely a chance that the CSR has no clue what they are talking about, but there is even a bigger chance that the coding/encryption or w/e the Verified by Visa thing requires is not compatible with the PS2/360.
Another thing, I can see Microsoft not allowing SE to implement this with anything being run on their Xbox Live service seeing that Xbox Live does not require Verified by Visa. Just a thought.
SEI POL Chris S: Unfortunately that is not something that I could comment on. If there is any sort of information regarding this, it will be placed on our website at PlayOnline.com
That was concerning the whole PC only deal.
It's pretty crappy of them, I agree. BTW - go to their support site here and search for "Q12872" it outright says that this affects the Windows platform only. Also, just to confirm this, I just updated CC info using a PS2 as a guest (I normally play on PC) and it worked fine without any of the new VBV stuff etc.Originally Posted by SE
I can't even get on the Verified by Visa site! oh geez....
I'm curious as to when the unverified temp bans are gonna start happening. i JUST switched from my debit card ( lost it, ordered a new one) to my mother's Visa til I get my new debit card.
Since it's safe to assume there will be a form of temp ban, we're gonna have to call the fucking phone center, aren't we? GDI...
I am verified with my debit card through Regions bank.
but i have 2 accounts, one of which was updated fine, (VBV activated)
2nd account showing i can't update my member info with the supplied card information
does this mean i need 2 debit cards to play both accounts now?
God that would be so retarded but I don't put it past SE to do it that way.
actually to update, you just have to wait one half hour between changing multiple accounts.
just got off the phone with SE and they said 2 accounts on 1 card will still work.
My CC is not part of securecode, if I get banned I'll just call it quits.
Thanks for that.
Well, I'm glad there is a workaround for this. I still don't see the point of them doing it just for the Windows platforms. Not that I'm not glad of this, by the way. I still think all of this they are doing is completely pointless.
They say they are doing this for our protection. What exactly are they protecting us from? If I have a fraudulent charge on my card, it's easily reversible with a quick phone call. We aren't held liable for fraudulent charges. I've heard some people say they are doing to prevent the RMT's from signing up. This can't be true, either. They are primarily using trial accounts and those require no registration of credit card information at all to use them. Additionally, if this were so important, why only on the PC version? This is their protection? (easily circumvented too!)
Maybe they are doing this so we aren't the next to be LM-17'd. Request a charge-back, even if its their fault with the billing system that still makes errors six years after release, get banned! The whole situation is ridiculous.
Nice to know. Srsly.
My agent just told me that any current card information on the account won't be effected until you need to update it for any reason. Only new accounts or cc changes to current accounts will run into problems if the card isn't verified, the only way to remedy the situation then would be to make sure your new card is registered. And he was very prompt about it too, guess he knew the drill by now lol.
Extended business hours for Information Center on Aug 2. I guess they are rearing for the backlash.
I have a BB&T Check Card, too, but I think you have to sign it up through BB&T's website. Click the "Verified by Visa" link on the left side of this page and see if it works for you:

Although this may just be for their credit cards...
