Yeah, that I believe would be considered updating your information.

What worries me though is that in the 2nd part of the announcement they imply that all customers should go through this to avoid any disruption of services.

This is whacked-out retarded, I don't even care the reason, although I'm sure they are trying to cut down on RMT by using this (or maybe just cockblocking people in countries that aren't NA/JP/EU entirely). I have 2 accounts (god only knows why I give them so much of my money) and I know for a fact that the card on my main account will verify, while the card I use for my 2nd account will not verify with the visa thing (it's a debit card). If my 2nd account gets locked out somehow I am going to be very opposite-of-happy. A lot of people who currently play are going to have problems with this because it doesn't seem like visa will verify a good percentage of cards. Even completely non-shady ones like my debit card (never had anything bad on it and had it for a while now) get rejected.

That seems clear enough. Current members do nothing - until you need to update your CC info with a new expiration date, create a new account, change credit cards etc.

So my bank doesn't support Verified by Visa, but they have MasterCard SecureCard.

And they issue Visas.

Hmm.. just turning 18 I don't have much/any credit built up.. so If this affects my current card I might not be able to play.. Not much notice on this with the registration maintenance too.. Even if I did use someone else's card I can't update it. Orz at waiting 2-3hours to chat with a POL agent. Guess I'll find out later!

just a thought, but couldnt this be looked as a counter measure against accounts with pre-paid credit cards, or something like that? Seeing as how unverified CC's would be likely to be cycled by RMT getting new numbers over and over.


aaaand I just checked on the site, and my visa is ineligable, good game.

Major banks use verified by visa for online transactions and will prompt you when you shop online. But if this is a real message, its likely because of all of the credit card fraud and people claiming their roomates etc etc stole their accounts. If this is not on the POL site or the SEAM site though, don't fall for it or give out shit to anyone. Going to check to see if its real, if not it should be reported to SE asap.

It is on POL site, the link was given already... On the US one at least for now, EU site doesn't have anything yet.
